1000 ping servers

Post » Thu Dec 30, 2010 3:36 pm

Almost every server in the list shows a ping of 1000. Often times i get the message "connection to host failed". Ingame ping is fine at 30 most of the times. Although i get killed around corners and bullets not registering.

I opened all the ports from the readme file, there is a rule for Crysis 2 in my firewall and i excluded the crysis 2 folder from the antivir guard.

Did anyone of you encounter this problems and/or has a solution for this?

edit: my nat type is moderate.

Same here, I even have DMZ enabled and SPI mode turned off (if it's enabled I get a "the connection with the opponent has been lost" error).
I always disable my antivirus (avira) while playing too.

Check to see if you get a good ping to our server in Chicago. On the in-game Browser, I always ping to it at 106 but in the game it's much lower.

It's setup with all Team Based Game Modes with every available map.
Crash Site
Capture the Relay
Extraction
Assault
Team Instant Action

We have Rcon up and running and Monitor the server in case we need to get rid of any Obvious Hackers.

Good on you sir, for supporting this game and hosting an American Server that is also near me! I will add your server and hop in later tonight for some fun. I like the multi-mode servers the most as it gives you plenty of variety.

Also for those that see the 1000 Latency servers, just connect to them, especially if they have players in them. They wouldn't be playing in their otherwise. Generally it's an issue with the server browser and is one of the many bugs associated with it. Generally they will turn out to be 100 Latency servers that run just fine.

this one is in new jersey usa i live in pa get 27 ping in the ingame tab browser http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/208.167.246.219:64000/b/ I found out that the server browser pings are not reliable just join ones that say close to where you are.

Most of the populated servers in Crysis 2 (as in, the servers that actually have players in them) are based in Europe, so if you are in America of course you would have bad pings (aka 1000 ping)

Most American servers are never populated because most of the time they are up, they have no players in them. Where as the European servers usually have 16/16 servers most of the time, so people tend to go where the other people are.

Yes it's stupid but it's really the only way to play multiplayer right now. I'm having so much fun getting killed out of nowhere only to find I've been standing in one spot for a long time while someone was hitting me with the butt of their gun for over 10 seconds.

@OP: Its a known problem and you are not the only one that has to deal with it. And its not related to servers at the other side of the world only. I got a 1000 ping for almost every german server and I do live in germany. 4Netplayers.de as well as gamed!de servers. Other servers in europe work just fine for me. And I doubt its related to a wrong router or firewall setup, if so i would be more than happy if someone would just proof me wrong.

In another clanbased forum it has been reported that the issue with those server might be due to a problem with the Windows 2008 server they are runing on.

So the problem lies within the german servers :/ i'm actually from germany and see those 1000 ping servers, along with a few american ones with ping between 150-300.

Yep all the 4netplayers server say 1000 here in UK too (I have to play on euro servers due to lack of UK servers active).
