110 hours in..still LOVING IT

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 9:52 pm

200+ hours in and i'm still loving it. Need to go into an Anonymous program soon to regain control of my life.

This. Still loving it, even though I die to Elder Dragons and Forsworn Spellcasters a lot with my resistless Nord since XBL patched me :teehee:

I'm only at about 40 hours and have just started again after choosing from a selection of mods that suit what I want. (slower leveling and skill gain mostly). Even so with my first character it only got to level 14 so have only begun to scratch the surface. The first felt more like a survey character as I got the feel for what is available. I'd head off somewhere, with some purpose in mind and find that I just spent 45 minutes running or riding around. Or I'd see some location on my compass and ride off in the complete opposite direction from where I was originally headed just to see what it was. I ended up picking up tons of quests and doing only a few of them.

Now I feel like I'm just really starting to play the game in the way I want too. It's funny really, as with most games after 40 hours of play I've pretty much finished it. With this one I feel like I'm still only getting started.

Same, 80 hours in, explored a large chunk of the total mass, haven't really fast travelled at all and having a blast! I haven't even started the MQ yet and am only 4 missions into the Companions quest-line! The amount of content in this game is really quite startling, not to mention it is the most fun I have had in any game that I can remember playing! Definately the best in the series and I have played all the previous games including Arena in 94. Oh my charachter is a level 28 Wood Elf Archer! Dungeon crawling and sight-seeing in this game is amazing, with the mountainous terrain incredible views are around every corner :) I have lost count I have sat on a outcrop high up watching a sunset or sunrise or the spectacular Aururas!

One character, over 100 hours in. Haven't done main questline, Companions, Mage College. Mostly just explore and wander. I did stop this weekend to quickly beat Saints Row, but heading back to Skyrim now.

At 140 hours now, last night I was wandering around when I saw a huge beam of light shooting up into the sky. I decided to investigate and it was Alduin bringing a named dragon to life, right in front of me. Amazing!!!

I never get tired of slaughtering giants or their stinky mammoths. And when I need a quick pick-me-up I'll put on the execution mask, grab the ol' bow, and skulk about one of the cities and kill all the guards. I like to keep things fresh and make sure no guards get complacent in their jobs.

170 hours in, on my second character and I'm still seeing new content all the time. Tonight I witnessed a new finishing move that was epic looking.

46 hrs in, level 22 nord thief/Mage...play a few hours a week cause of my two year old (who loves watching daddy run around skyrim)...but think about it all day. Great immersion, great tone, trying to take it slow and make it last by not charging thru the MQ. Great game, can't wait for dlc!

Brilliant game.

Love nothing more than to watch the Aurora Borealis. At one point I remember them being red. That was memorable.

2 more hours to hit 400 and I haven't finished the main quest yet, just started my 5th new char... a wood elf assassin but he's quite the law guy, doing some of the companions quests at the moment but I don't seem to fit into the circle, so I might head to Riften where my character will probably find more use ;^), and btw, the rare clear weather days of Riften pleases me so much *.* love that environment... also Markarth is completely incredible, reminds me that beautiful dwarven city from Witcher 2, a masterpiece as well... the sunny days of the northern Skyrim, close to the High Rock borders are too quite pleasing... I totally love to pass by.

I can without exaggerating say that this is the best game ive played since i first laid eyes on Baldurs Gate for windows 95. I have lost count on how many hours in i am... but it miut be over 250 easy, and i made a new fan of the series. My girlfriend is also about 100 hours in after getting sick of me talking about Skyrim all the time the first 2-3 weeks.

Also i play dead is dead and i have died on a few characters and i intentionally killed one of just now coz i did not like its look.. so i guess i have seen the intro around 15 times.. not sick of it yet.

Here's a really great article that fits right in with the theme of this thread; it might be posted somewhere else too but here it is.

I'm 130 hours in and haven't done the MQ past High Hrothgar visit, the Thieves Guild, the Dark Brotherhood, haven't visited Dawnstar, Morthal or Riften yet, have only done 1/3rd of the Stormcloaks and none of the Imperials, also haven't done Bards College, Blades, Temple Quests......

This is my favorite Elder Scroll to date and I've played since Daggerfall. (Wasn't there one before that? Arena?)

I love the Dungeon Quests, the messengers.... in fact, I'll often think "They should have had a follow up quest to that..." and then THEY DO! :)

In fact, now that I "know" the game, I just started a fresh character for a complete playthrough - lol. Took 130 hours but now I'm looking forward to another 200 easy.

:) Love you Bethesda!!!!!! Without you my gaming shelf wouldn't be the same (fave games: Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 1,2,3, Fallout:NV, Arcanum, Shadow Magic, Jagged ALliance 2, Stalker: CoP, The Witcher, Baldur's Gate 2 - so Bethesday has 5 of my top ones!)

Probably over 135 hours so far, ad still finding nice touches.

Hell, last night, I saw an elk just standing on a small island between a few tree stumps. It didn't move, so I shot it. As soon as it dropped dead, a spriggan appeared out of nowhere.
I can't help but wonder if this was done on purpose or not.

Truely awesome!

I'm probably about halfway through in terms of MQ and guilds etc, and im nowhere near bored. I see this game like a moving picture, the artwork is astounding, the atmosphere is unmatched, the soundtrack is relaxing and moving at times.

I genuinely get lost in this game sometimes, it soaks me up as I get sidetracked on my way to a quest, and during that session never even make it to the objective I set out to accomplish. Last night I was coming out of the inn at dawnstar and it was perfectly clear, bar a couple of snowflakes, then the sky turned grey as clouds formed and within minutes I couldn't see through the blizzard.

The game is relaxing to me, I can chill on the sofa with the mrs, and soak up the amazing experience Bethesda created.

Cheers!

God bless you Sir. Im right there with you.

Happy trails. I'll save a brew for you of our paths ever cross out there... :foodndrink:

I have a semi-retired Thief, level 29, after 85 hours. Never touched the main quest.

Now I have a level 19 Assassin, still going after 32 hours.
She barely started the Main quest, but started it because I the player wanted to encounter a dragon.

A memorable moment was being lost in a snowy mountainous forest at night, while being hunted by a frost dragon.
I don't carry a ton of stuff, including potions, so I was not prepared to fight this dragon alone, head on.
That was amazingly exciting, and I finally got away.

Seems for many, 300 hours is easy to achieve. I think even Bethesda understimate howmuch there is to do. Haha :)

I'm 101 hours in and loving it. I haven't been bored once. The game is really quite incredible, and it's probably the best game I've ever played. It's just flat out amazing.

Only 95 hours into it, it's been something truly special to remember. From getting my copy at release date midnight until now. I been savoring the experience by not playing it too long each day, only about 5 hours of play per day. Ordering some Skyrim shirts and hoodies soon.
