110 hours in..still LOVING IT

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 10:33 pm

Agreed! I just passed the 60 hour mark and am almost level 40. Today I went to a mine to get some ebony ore and when I came out I discovered an elder dragon had wiped out an entire Ork settlement. I rushed in but the only survivors were the smith and the alchemist. The chief died honorably.

Afterward I just couldn't help but think what a cool game this is. I mean random stuff is constantly going on and there is ALWAYS something new to discover.

More than 150 hours with my main char, and 1 full month, and I think it's time to retire him and leave him relax in the hotsprings south of Windhelm :)

Time to create a second one. I still don't know how will it be, apart from being a character that will do the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood questlines (which I still haven't done).

I'm ~65 hours in and enjoying it, but I'm very disappointed in its factions and, well, certain RPG and/or traditional TES mechanics, or rather a lack thereof. There's no reputation system for Skyrim... no recognition or vilification for my deeds. :( One of my favorite parts about the game are the soundtracks and I like the atmosphere and certain side quests, but the poor/lacking RPG elements are disheartening. It's also quite atrocious, what people have been reporting for PS3 performance and what I myself have been experiencing. Some of the views in this game are fantastic, though (Ever been to High Hrothgar... especially with the aurora borealis flashing in the sky?).

Lvl 61. Setting restrictions and role playing are what keep the game fresh for me; as well as the atmosphere and quests.

Party poopers not welcome here, poke your nose in one if the hundreds of negative threads please.

Those that would generalize me for opinion, can't stand an opinion, and have the audacity to dare to label me because I'm not acting as a drone and repeating "greatest game ever!" without stating my true anolytical thoughts on the game alongside my anolytical positive things have no position to tell me where I am and am not welcome. I like the game and I have my criticisms of the game. The presence of criticism is not proper ground by which I should be considered a pariah.

Wasn't needed in this thread, whatever you say. There's hundreds of threads you could add your points too, this is one if the few that was entirely positive until you popped up.

Just because people actually like the game doesn't mean they are "drones". You are just as bad labeling others.

Thank you. I think some people like to belittle others and try to ruin their fun for some reason. I'm glad it took 4 pages for one to turn up in this thread, was really hoping it would remain a place where people enjoying it could read positive things.

Nothing is needed in any thread and you're targeting me because I stated some criticism with my praise (which you've blatantly overlooked and ignored). You can set the subject for a thread, but I am perfectly within my rights to state some caveats in addition to my praise. If you have nothing to comment on my comment, ignore it. I'm not forcing anyone to pay attention to my brief explanation of a few things I feel could have been better alongside what I loved. They're brief, they're short, they're ignorable. If you just want a thread where people state how much they love every aspect of Skyrim, you're asking for a facade. I'm still liking Skyrim and enjoying it, as I've posted, but there's no such thing as perfection and I won't pretend that there is. If the bottom line is that you want to hear that I'm enjoying the game, then I am.

Just because people actually like the game doesn't mean they are "drones". You are just as bad.

Where did I label people that actually like the game as drones? Did you not even read what I said? I said I enjoy the game and stated my favorite parts as well as stated my disappointments... but my disappointments are selectively all that get looked and I'm suddenly an unfairly targeted poster just stating his opinion. It's because I'm not stating purely praise that I'm being attacked, here, not because I'm attacking anyone else's opinion or saying Skyrim is a bad game. That is why I'm being attacked, because I'm not being all for one-dimensional praise and praise alone.

I got to a point in the thieves guild where it glitched and I can't progress. It turned out to be a blessing as I made a thief character and will use him just to do that quest line. :)

I agree entirely. I'm on my third character, and still loving it. My highest is only 50, but he was a Breton and I got tired of being shorter than everyone else, so I started my current Imperial. =P

I find that the game is slightly more enjoyable at lower levels, for some reason. It's not the fact that you get to explore again and feel that sense of bewilderment once more - because I remember where everything is. I can't quite place it. I suppose I enjoy dragons being actually challenging.

But even on said level 50, who i've completed every guild's questline, the main questline, and a few other major events with - I still get immense joy from popping the game in and inadvertently losing five hours in five minutes.

Greatly looking forward to DLC. :tes:

It is incredibly refreshing to see a thread like this, and I couldn't agree more.

I keep kicking myself whenever I'm on these boards because it seems 3/4 of the threads are "THIS GAME svckS/IS UNBALANCED/I WAS LIED TO/RIPPED OFF" whatever. 3/4 of the threads aren't actually, but that's the way it seems. And for some unknown reason I can't help myself but read those threads. And while reading, I start thinking to myself, "You know, I've noticed that too...maybe they're right..." and I get a bit sad about the game. THEN I go and actually play the game and I think, "They couldn't be more wrong."

I love this game, and I don't care who knows it! :D Is it perfect? No, no game is perfect. But look for the fun in the imperfections and you find JOY! :tes:

I'm probably about halfway through in terms of MQ and guilds etc, and im nowhere near bored. I see this game like a moving picture, the artwork is astounding, the atmosphere is unmatched, the soundtrack is relaxing and moving at times.

I genuinely get lost in this game sometimes, it soaks me up as I get sidetracked on my way to a quest, and during that session never even make it to the objective I set out to accomplish. Last night I was coming out of the inn at dawnstar and it was perfectly clear, bar a couple of snowflakes, then the sky turned grey as clouds formed and within minutes I couldn't see through the blizzard.

The game is relaxing to me, I can chill on the sofa with the mrs, and soak up the amazing experience Bethesda created.

Cheers!

200+ hours in and i'm still loving it. Need to go into an Anonymous program soon to regain control of my life.

162 hours in on my main character on PC (another 50 on PS3 game on hold now) and still having a blast. I've had the main quest mostly on hold while I explore all these ruins. I haven't yet been to Solitude or Markarth or Morthal or most of the western side of the map. I was waiting for this game for almost a year in the forums as we had E3 and all the shows witih all the reveals we hungered for and it's all been so worth it. I couldn't be happier. Keep your eyes on the skies!

190 for me. Wow. Completely ignoring TG and DB lines. I'll do those on the next play through. It will be like a whole new game! I'm so lucky, I get to play it again!

90 hours in, Level 26 with a good female Khajiit Adventurer/Spellsword named Gi'Anna. She's only doing the MQ and Companions Guild in terms of story and factions.

I just started Arkved, an evil male Altmer Mage, who will do the College of Winterhold and dungeon dive, and also search for an illusive set of white Robes.

Then there's Skeeme, a neutral male Argonian Thief, who will do the Thieves Guild. I'm torn between the DB with him or with Arkved.

And lastly there will be Crom, a male Nord who just hangs out and quests for people, drinks mead, and takes on Giants. Because he can.

I'm barely two hours in with Arkved, but it's been a blast so far playing as an evil Mage. I'm always the goody two-shoes Warrior, so this has been a brilliant change of pace for me.

Yup, my life is officially over. Well, on my days off anyway. After laundry. And feeding the cat and dog. And spending time with Mrs. Argonian scum. And...oh, you get the picture.

Same, still love it, though thankfully not quite as fervently as my first days with it, because I need to, you know, do life stuff.

I just keep making different archetypes with differing personas, rules of play, makes each character a unique experience.

This is a world that I can inhabit, and let some imagination flow a bit.

It seems that if you need to preface your opinion with "if you disagree with my opinion then don't say anything" then your opinion does not belong in a public forum.

If you disagree with people who point out flaws, you should be able to either voice your disagreement or silently be unbothered by it. If you think the flaws are indeed flaws that effect the quality of the game, but choose to ignore them because it makes the game better for you, then you're operating with a "ignorance is bliss" philosophy, which is all fine and good, but that philosophy doesn't mix well with public forums; you should probably avoid them.
