131 hours and i finally finished the main quest...

Finally....after 131 hours, i have finished the main quest.

This is the music played at the final battle. I teared a little when i first heard it. Truly epic
It uses the exact same lyrics as the main theme, yet gives a completely different feel to it.

Totally blown away by this song, i feel like an ancient Viking going forth towards the legendary Valhalla for the final battle.
Bethesda should feature this song more in their trailers.

Someone posted this comment on this song at the Youtube channel:

The Nords will? sing of me until their very voice gives way,
The Imperials will remember me for the death visited upon their mortal legions,
The Orcs will know of me forever as the warrior without equals,
The mages will never forget that my voice wielded more power than their most powerful spells,
and The Elves will forever fear the lands of the North in the knowledge that my spirit watches over it.
I am Dovahkiin, Slayer of The World Eater. Hear my Voice and Despair

I couldn't have said it better. Truly epic.
Thank you Bethesda for Skyrim.

Now...i await for the CK....great mods await....

We're fighting dragons, and the MQ is mostly about stopping them and finding out why they're returning. Where did the game imply that we were going to visit the halls of the dead?

Well, i sort of had an inkling when that bard song mentioned "When Sovngarde beckons, everyone of us dies"

Anyway Sovngarde cannot be properly explained/described in words. You have to be there with this song to really FEEL it.
One of the best places i've visited so far.

Probably the greatest moment I've experienced in a videogame.

Also, you're a big wrong about it using the same lyrics as the main theme. There's a stanza that is skipped in the main theme and one of the lines cuts off into the chorus, if I remember. The Sovngarde chant is the actual Song of the Dragonborn in full, presumably in its original form too, which was lost to time according to the loading tips.

Nice observation.
i thought it was the full lyrics of the main theme. Now it explains why there are extra verses.
And yea, one of the greatest moment i've experienced too in a videogame.

Yeah, I believe you. I'm just a bit annoyed by spoilers that is not in the Spoilers forum. I just reckoned that the bard's song was exactly that, a bard's song.
I descend from Norse too, so I just though of it as Valhalla. A mead hall of honor to the ones dying honorable with sword in hand. Many old men that had been fighters but never died in battle actually got their family to kill them with a spear or sword to allow them eternity in Valhalla.
Anyways, I've just started the MQ so I'll eventually get there.

Havent begun the MQ yet, so this is intruiging. The only problem I have with this ending is a blatant plot inconsistency. As Thieves Guild Master, how can my Nord go to Sovngarde when he'll be on an eternal date with the Nocturnal?
