I think they think 300 is a good amount of max slots per character, I would tend to agree.

Thanks, I'm happy they are addressing so many concerns of the community
I am still expecting an expansion on the character creation, though.
oops, meant 200. Thats Character slots + maxed out horse slots for about 200. Still that should be more than enough.
Yeah I was about to quote and say something about this too but noticed you already did....can their servers not handle bag space or something? They basically did nothing....why would they remove 3 potential bank upgrades?.......I would have bought and needed those 3 potention bank upgrades. I don't know what to say about that but I'm sure others will defend Zenimax's decision about this with their lives and say it's better for the game.
You're still getting those spaces, you just get them given to you at the beginning instead of paying for those first 3 upgrades. In the end you'll have the same amount of space, you just won't get your first "official" upgrade until later in the game.
They removed the upgrades because they are now giving you them for free right away... but yes clearly more slots to start the game is just a terrible decision for the game.
People aren't complaining about having to buy upgrades.
They're saying that the total overall number of spaces is still too low.
They want thousands and thousands of spaces so they can hoard everything. At least that's what it sounds like to me.
Sounds good but I wish they hadn't nerfed Gutsripper. He was fine. All they needed to do was fix the bug (or whatever it was) that kept you trapped in Cheesemonger's Hollow.
Edit: and I think they're limiting storage space as a way of limiting crafting per character and encouraging trade.
No, I know they're giving us 10 more slots at the beginning of the game, I got that but they're removing 1 and 3 potention bag/bank upgrades, why? The bag/bank space is already a problem obviously so leave the extra potention upgrades in the game...
Incorrect, just collecting all of the mats for my clothing/smithing filled up my bank and bags space just mats for two professions I wanted to work on, there wasn't enough space, I couldn't even keep the outfits I wanted to keep because I had no space for them. Thousands of spaces sounds too extreme.
No I'm not, there's a space problem obviously or we wouldn't be seeing so many threads about "The bag space issue" You obviously haven't collected materials or worked on professions in the game yet because you're clueless. And upgrading bank space is way too expensive already.
You've seen the threads. Most of them ARE hoarders and can't seem to understand that no, you cant just hold on to everything. Focus what you're doing instead of picking up every single little thing.
Done with that tier of crafting supplies? Put it in the guild bank for others, sell it, whatever. You don't need to hold onto 2000 maple just in case you need it later.
There's a difference in asking for more space and the absurd "this is going to take forever to implement" demands that have been brought up. There's a space limit for a reason.
This problem happens in WoW a lot too and it's not just crafting materials. My bank has 7 28 slot bags in it, I have 4 28 slot bags on my character. Now take my 13 characters with it. There are many others in my position. On top of this, the bank has something like four or 5 rows of slots besides what the bags go in. That's 308 slots just in tailored bags.
"We don't have enough room." This is a game where a single player can have an 8 tab guild bank for materials, has 50 characters per account limit and the biggest bag sizes are 28 slots.
"Not enough room".
NO ONE IS EVER HAPPY WITH INVENTORY SPACE. Ever.
Then don't hoard the mats.
Use them.
Use them and move on to the next.
I have.
When my bags are full of it, I stop and use them. When I run out I go do more stuff and collect materials.
I'm detecting a lot of sarcasm out of Wing. Just an aside.
How can you use them when you're trying to collect and save them for certain armor types that require 4 or so different types of material and you don't have all of them? Am I supposed to just make stuff I don't need? Should I just delete/vendor them? Sounds like a bad idea, thanks but no and I knew people would come in here defending Zenimax with their lives hehe.
Five tiers of metal/wood at release, various tiers of glyph to attach to armour/weapons - not to mention storage space for armour just for my character to grow into - that by itself would take up my bank storage, then there's the weapon/armour drops I NEED to farm inorder to gain traits to research (which take up a big chunk of real time and to start can only be done one at a time) etc etc, that takes up my character's personal inventory - it means as a single profession crafter I can't adventure freely because I have no available slots for quest items, potions, vendor trash etc etc. The developers are underestimating what is required by their customers and I have tried to point this out in a constructive way in each of the three weekends I have been involved in.
umm guess you haven't played the game? The first upgrade was 10 slots. They now give you those 10 slots free to start the game. Thats why they removed the first upgrade option, because you get it for free now.
No, what it sounds like is that you want to be able to hold on to an ample supply of all materials of all tiers.
That is not feasible.
There's your problem.
This guy gets it, so many clueless non profession players in this thread that don't know what they're talking about.
I think the push is to aid or push trading, instead of hording items then go on a crafting bonanza.
the starting inventory was not the real problem, at that time we only have access to 1 tier of materials
the real problem was knowing that there is 7 tiers of materials! with no way to store them, this has not fixed anything about the bag/bank space, it just moved the problem from level 10 to maybe 20
who is supposed to craft for low level characters?
how are you supposed to craft for your alts if you are forced to sell materials as soon as you move to next tier?
there's your problem
