NO 1920x1080 PROBLEM

Post » Mon Feb 25, 2013 3:43 pm

Hi fellas, usually I don't have issues like these. However i'm not sure what to do next. for the life of me I can not get Crysis 3 SP to play at 1920x1080.

Windows 8 x64
ATI 5870's Crossfire
drivers updated

I have tried editing the GFE file located in C:\Users\WarFox101\Saved Games\Crysis3

r_AntialiasingMode = 10
r_MotionBlur = 2
r_MotionBlurShutterSpeed = 0.004
r_TexMaxAnisotropy = 16
r_TexMinAnisotropy = 16
sys_spec = 4
sys_spec_GameEffects = 4
sys_spec_ObjectDetail = 4
sys_spec_Particles = 4
sys_spec_PostProcessing = 4
sys_spec_Shading = 4
sys_spec_Shadows = 4
sys_spec_TextureResolution = 4
sys_spec_Water = 4
r_Width = 1280
r_Height = 720
r_Fullscreen = 1
r_vSync = 0

However the game seems to override the settings.

And yes I have tried changing the resolution in game. There is no 1920x1080 option.

Any help would be much appreciated

I have the same problem. The reason being is that my 46'' full hd tv broke so I'm currently stuck on a slightly older where 1080i is the usual option in games. (Unless you don't use DX11)

However in games I can't change to 1080 (though regarding new releases Far Cry 3 had no problems) I've managed to fix this in Hitman Absolution and Max Payne 3 by using "Windowed Borderless Gaming" http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2675769

I've tried Fullscreen OFF in Crysis 3 though but it won't apply to my desktop (1080) which is really annoying - I edited settings in WBG to 1920x1080 and it did go "Fake fullscreen" and I thought I had finally done what I had done in Hitman and MP3.

But when I took a screenshot it was still 720 (which I kind of realized before since it had kind of a "fuzzy" look in-game)

Really I don't mind playing it in 720 that much but I really really need to take screenshots in 1080.

Edit: I've briefly been trying with different settings in DxWind which seems even better, but to no avail. http://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/

Anyone used it before/know any recommended settings to try?
