Lol okay apparently I can only select something higher than 1600 when picking "windowed mode" which makes the right 2 inches of the screen not-visible...great.
I can but have no idea what your talking about or how I would do that
Find the ini file, which is probably in your documents. Find the resolution in the ini and change it to what you want. If the ini file is the same as every other TES on windows.

Sounds like you don't have a widescreen monitor if the picture is off the screen like that at 1080.1080 is a widescreen format.
I found the resolution in the file listed above and changed it but it didn't seem to do anything. I have a 24 inch widescreen monitor...clearly a 1600 resolution is not the native.
Assuming it's usually there in other games, I'd say not. Dunno then...for some reason not detecting properly. Try posting in the hardware problem/pc forum, might get more response there.

Are you sure you don't have a 16:10 monitor? (native res for 16:10 24" is 1920x1200)
Since people here seem to like throwing around unwarranted accusations of elitism. Here's a blatant one - cheap 24" TN screen are 1920x1080, only expensive 24" IPS screens can run games at 1920x1200 with 100% colour gamut.
