No 1920x1080 resolution option?

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 12:56 pm

So when it auto-detected my settings it made them all ultra but my max resolution is 1600, not 1920x1200. I have a 1080p monitor.

How do I get 1080p enabled???

Yeah in all of the aspect ratio options I have nothing higher than a 1600x resolution.

Lol okay apparently I can only select something higher than 1600 when picking "windowed mode" which makes the right 2 inches of the screen not-visible...great.

Are you playing on the PC or a console? Because as I understand Full HD is only for those(us) nice PC-gamers

So basically the only way to select my correct resolution is "windowed mode" which cuts off a few inches of the screen...SWEET

Can you not go into the ini file and change the resolution?

And you are absolutely sure your screen is a 1920x1080?

Sorry its actually 1920x1200 at least that is what its at right now and it looks perfect.

I tried the 1600 full screen resolutions and they are stretched and horrible looking.

Find the ini file, which is probably in your documents. Find the resolution in the ini and change it to what you want.
If the ini file is the same as every other TES on windows.

Sounds like you don't have a widescreen monitor if the picture is off the screen like that at 1080.1080 is a widescreen format.

Edit: too slow, glad to hear you got it working!

Try:
iSize W=(desired resolution)
iSize H=(desired resolution)

in: #:\Users\[User]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim (ini file)

...not sure if that fixes the have to be windowed issue tho.

I found the resolution in the file listed above and changed it but it didn't seem to do anything. I have a 24 inch widescreen monitor...clearly a 1600 resolution is not the native.

Assuming it's usually there in other games, I'd say not.
Dunno then...for some reason not detecting properly. Try posting in the hardware problem/pc forum, might get more response there.

Are you sure you don't have a 16:10 monitor? (native res for 16:10 24" is 1920x1200)

Since people here seem to like throwing around unwarranted accusations of elitism. Here's a blatant one - cheap 24" TN screen are 1920x1080, only expensive 24" IPS screens can run games at 1920x1200 with 100% colour gamut. :flamethrower:
