199 hrs in, level 71, 72% achievements done - thanks.

Not even close to finishing the main quest and I'm still liking it a lot. Hopelessly overpowered weapons from around level 15 - which was a bit lame, but still loving it. Just met Virgil and achievement [censored] now. I have all the settlements, even achieved Benevolent Leader which only 1% of Steam players have managed apparently, and I guess it's now time to make a run for the end. Not sure if I'll play it again once completed. It doesn't have the re playability factor that Vegas had for me, so this may be my one and only run.

Saying that, thanks Bethesda for a great game. I has faults, yes. It's lost some of it's RPG appeal to me - yes, but undoubtedly a great game. If I could offer any advice as a loyal customer of yours, don't be so afraid to bring back the more complex RPG elements to the game. It became an arcade game for me at round level 20 - which was a shame.

New Vegas still rules the Fallout world for me and doesn't look like being topped yet, but thanks again. As always, I'm looking forward to more.

So you're another Obsidian fan repeating the same lines as all the others in reality but with a few nice things thrown in too

I'm happy to fulfill my function of loathing on NV to even things up.

So one can only love latest iteration in the serie? It is getting a bit old, that people has to to be labeled Obsidian lovers and whatnot, just because one feels overall that FONV is the better game. No need to bash people for sharing their opinions, whether you agree or not.

I'm not an Obsidian fan and still think NV is the best Fallout game so far, with Fallout 4 coming second (haven't played 1 or 2 enough to judge).

I love New Vegas, I also love Fallout 3 & 4. The vibe of what he/she has said gives it all away.

Well NV is a complete game with all DLC's and also 3-4 years of mods so I'd agree NV is overall better atm but I think that will change soon.

If Fallout 4 would even have 50% of the awesome mods that Skyrim had, it would be a million times better than it is now.

Agree, that will happen, just a waiting game for the Tools to come out.

People chill.

The OP made a very positive post, thanks for sharing your view. :)

I would prefer NV, too, if not for the horrific lack of difficulty in that otherwise awesome game.

So glad FO4 is a game, where you actually can run into enemies, that might kill you beyond level 10.

Wow! I wasn’t aware that passions ran so high about New Vegas! Is this because it wasn’t a Bethesda game and Bethesda fanbois just can’t hear it - or even acknowledge it?

I’m now curious why there is so much division - and it is curious because I think if I said Fallout 3 was better than Fallout 4 - and didn’t mention New Vegas at all, then I’d bet there wouldn’t be anywhere near the passion or the devoted fan-ism

Weird.

If you said FO3 > FO4, I would get my pitchfork out. ;)

NV is probably the closest to the original fallout rpg style as we can get. it's not really anything to do with obsidian, its just the lack of rpg elements the new fallouts lacks.

I really disliked NV, although it had several excellent DLC.

FO4 has taken some excellent RPG steps, although now that I've completed my first run through my view is that the storyline has some flat spots in it, and is definitely let down by bugs and glitches breaking the immersion and gameplay flow. That first criticism is redeemable with good DLC, the second can only be fixed by a new engine and some serious effort put into fixing the bugs inherent in Beth's RPGs (after a decade lifetime with the engine we still have the same problems?)
