1st Person Vs. 3rd Person

Post » Fri Jul 22, 2011 11:58 pm

I know im going to stick with 1st person. I always found it a lot more fun that way, plus it's easier to aim and such. What do you guys think?

1st person because aiming a bow in 3rd person is next to impossible and it just looks better.

I think tes games are designed with first person in mind over 3rd person. It's difficult to play in third person so I only do so when traveling the overworld.

Em both is the only correct answer to have in the game ;\

1st for combat, third for running around.

I use 1sp person in any game in which is really viable. I find it more immersive (yes I used the word immersive, it's my post and I use the words I want :P ).

1st mostly I will be in first due to figthing, shooting, and looking is way easier then having 3rd and the PC blocking your view.

But I will use 3rd when I am on auto run/walk.

3rd person seem weird for me. First person is just natural.

I only ever play in third person. I can't get into the role of the character when all they are is a pair of hands.

I think you need another option for both. I'll play 3rd person when I'm outside because I like to look at myself, and switch to first when I enter a dungeon so I'm not in my own way... as it were.

Mostly 1st person.

Only use 3rd person for running around the countryside and for the occasional vanity inspection of awesome weapons/armor.

I liked the previous poll which asked both this and whether players played male or female characters. The number of players playing third person almost perfectly correlated to the number of players playing female characters, and vice versa, after a reasonably large sampling.

Third-person. I roleplay from a third-person perspective. I am not my character, I am simply watching my character while he/she goes through life in Tamriel like a book or movie. It's more immersive for me to play in third-person.

Honestly, I've never been a huge fan of first-person in video games. I like a lot of first-person games, but honestly, it's always got that "boxed in" feeling.

Yep.

1st person for playability, 3rd person for screenshots and looking at nifty armor.

First person for me, adds to immersion for me (as if I'm the character), plus I like the looks of battling in first person better, although if I ride a horse I'll most likely be in third person, it just feels right that way.

I tend to play both, because I can never make up my mind what I like better. It gives the game a nice change whenever you've been playing one particular view for a while. Unfortunately, I was never able to play 3rd person during combat, because it was next to impossible. Apparently, this is changing, so I'm looking forward to having an equally appealing experience in both.
