1st person Camera is falling

Post » Thu Dec 05, 2013 11:56 pm

As I've been playing, I've noticed my first person camera falling lower and lower. I play a female Breton, who I know is one of the shortest, but this is crazy- the camera height is at the same eye level as my dog now.

Is there a fix to reset my camera height? Don't say that mod please. I'm playing vanilla.

Thanks in advance! :hehe:

First of all i have found this answer over the net...

After a LOT of Googling i found that those files goes to the skyrim.ini (%UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini) on the bottom.

[Camera]
fVanityModeMaxDist=6000.0000
fVanityModeMinDist=155.0000
fMouseWheelZoomMinDelta=0.0050
fMouseWheelZoomSpeed=0.8000
fMouseWheelZoomIncrement=0.01
fMinCurrentZoom=0.001

But beside that i don't know if they fixing anything with your 1st person height problem....

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused

-------------

or you could try the FoV with the console.

~ to bring up command console

type:

fov ##

where the higher the number the bigger the FoV.

--------///////--------OR (to make it permanent)

The FOV can be changed by doing the following:

1.In the SkyrimPrefs.ini file, add the following line to the [General] section at the bottom:
fDefaultFOV=XX

2.Then, open the skyrim.ini file, and add the following 2 lines to the [Display] section:
fDefaultWorldFOV=XX
fDefault1stPersonFOV=XX.XXXX

3. Get in the game, load your savegame, press ~ and type FOV XX. Press ~ again to close the console. Save and exit. Now load your game and the FOV will never default back.

Where XX is your preferred FOV

I have a strange feeling that you might be stuck in crouch/sneak mode.

Try sitting in a chair/throne/bench and see if that makes a difference.

[edit]

Maybe using the anvil/blacksmith bench, smelter, maybe even mining will reset the stuck mode.

[edit]

Likely the cause of this issue is if you sneaked and did some mining quite often the game puts you back into the standing position but your are still in sneak mode in terms of height bit everything else still looks like you are standing (hud), Usually tapping the sneak button a few times fixes it but sometimes it does not, so you need to use an event that triggers a third person view to reset to the proper mode.
