1st Person Experience

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 6:51 pm

They need to make it like Farcry 2. I remember due to the epic 1st person-ness I was once COMPLETELY immersed. Like for real, I literally thought i was there, most immersed Ive ever been. (Excluding Morrowind ;D)

I know how ya feel.
The healing animations where you would say, pull shrapnel from a part of your body, and the way the camera would shake. It felt really immersive. I hope Far Cry 3 does the same.

Watching the video I can't help wanting Mirrors Edge 2... If it ever gets made it will be so awesome. Mirrors Edge is probably my favorite non rpg game!

Yeah, I like no HUD, but I still want to know when I'm about to die.

Off topic but...

Ever heard of immersive health/fatigue indicators?

You can hear your heart beat faster the lower your health is.
You can hear heavier panting sounds the lower your fatigue is.
Your vision becomes a bit blurry when you're very low health/fatigue.

That brings up a good question. Will there be tail physics?

If I look down I would like to see my body with the cloths or armor I have chosen to wear, that would be good for immersion not really sure about hair blowing in your face it would be alright as long as it did not obstruct your vision.

I find it silly when people say they don't want to see floating arms or anything....

Hold a sword at the ready, do you see your arms in your peripheral vision? You bet. Hell, as I type this I can see my fingers, hands, forearms and full keyboard in my peripheral vision...

When you look around are they still directly in front where you're looking? Of course not.

I wouldn't want to see my hair... it might be cool to see whatever helmet I have on, but it might get on my nerves after awhile. Perhaps they could give us an option to toggle to see our helmet in first person.

Judging from the screenshots, no "helmet cam"
