1st Person Experience

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 11:53 am

Personally, I would love these things in 1st Person, they may be little things but could really add alot to the realism!
Seeing your shoulders and feet if you move around.
In 1st Person, (this is probably the least likely to get picked) seeing your hair move around, yes, it's a tiny update, but could be fun, and if you're looking out of a helm, you can see the parts covering your face, example: Glass armors helmet has something to cover your eyes, if your in 1st person do you want to see that little small thing? Sure, tiny little things to do, but could add to the realism.
Post your wishes for 1st Person experience here! :)

One thing the Halo series does right: Letting me see my legs when I look down. If Bethesda can do that in Skyrim, I'll be completely happy with first-person.

I'm not against seeing your own body if you look down but I liked how it was in Oblivion.

I agree with all that stuff. The hair and helmet are the least likely but they would be amazing.

As much as I enjoy realism, I don't want annoyances like hair and helmet covering my eyes.

I agree, but I would like to see my body.

Mirror's Edge spent a lot of time on how a first person view should look. I hope it is something like that.

I want it to be like actually seeing through my own eyes. I.E. No weapons/hands constantly in my sight (who holds their weapons or hands right in front of their eyes at all times?) And I want to look down and see my character's body, or at least his feet as he walks/runs.

I want it that way too, no floating arms constantly in front. I just don't want the stuff like hair in the eyes or helmet blocking my sight.

I hope there is first-person full body awareness in Skyrim. In a game that focuses so much on immersion, it would be a shame to lack a feature that has been included in many other lesser (IMO) titles.

I agree with most of the posts here. I definitely want to look down and see my armor or body. Full body awareness for this game would really add to the immersion of my character in the world.

Something basic like Halo or Riddike(sp?) would work. Mirror's Edge is a bit different. The animations look good because they were exaggerated for 1st person. So when someone modded a 3rd person view into the game, the model looked super deformed as it moved about.

-Shoulders, not really a big deal to me.
-Wisps of hair(if long enough) blowing across your face in the wind or when your running etc. would be a nice touch.
-Love the idea of a helmet animated over your sight though, or a hood that wrinkled and bunched about as you moved. The helmet idea opens up even more options for immersive animations too. Like lets say you take a blow to the head with a mace and it jars the helm a little to the side, obstructing part ofyour view for a second before your character straightens it out.
-I read in another post about being able to see your breath in the colder climates--would be nice as well.

originally i wasnt a big fan of anything obstructing the screen in the way of helmets. but after playing metro 2033 and some mods for STALKER that add helmets, gasmasks, and rebreathers i now love them. adds a new layer of realism when you have a gasmask on and hear your breathing and can see your breathe.

Far Cry 2 is amazing in this aspect. Even the map is totally in game. When you get into a car you can see yourself move around correctly as the animation plays, all in first person. I love that stuff, and TES seems like the perfect series for it. Especially since they're trying to make the UI more "in game" like and less "obvious 2d menu".

Finding an actual map in the beginning of the game, which introduces you to the "map" would be a very cool little touch.

I agree with the posts about Far Cry 2. I also really like Far Cry 2 so I had to agree. :P

But I don't want helmets and hair to effect my view. That would just be annoying.

I want to see my legs and possibly shoulders, as well as a bit of my torso. No hair/helmet/nose, that would be terrible for immersion since in real life you block those out. If I play as a female character, I want to see my cleavage when I look down. And lots of it.

That's something that some female players don't want, according to some posts.

I'd like a Halo-esque seeing of the legs, and maybe some Call of Duty type head bob/blurring effects to increase immersion. I wouldn't like to see much interference when it comes to helmets. Maybe something subtle like Metroid Prime or Star Wars: Republican Commando.
