1st time using mods and problems already

Hey folks. Just wondering if anyone could give me advice or suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong with installing these mods for oblivion. I recently bought the GOTY special edition and am attempting to use slof's Snow leopards along with Roberts male body v5 beta. However it doesn't seem to be working quite well..

It doesn't seem like robert's male body mod is working at all, since none of the meshes or textures for any of the other races seems to be working as well. Would anyone know if they're any other mods I would need to download to solve this problem?

Every seems to have problems with body mods, but frankly they are necessary. The only advice I can give is either maintain the file structure when placing files in the Data folder, ie if your Data folder has a Data folder in it you did something wrong, or you can use the Oblivion Mod Manager, which can be really helpful especially for things like body mods.

You'll have to check the readme's, but it looks like perhaps the snow leopard textures might have several sub folders depending on whether you are using a nvde body or an "underwear" body, and you'll have to select the one you want and then move those textures into the right places.

You need to http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/postlo. However, I recommend you start with this guide in order to properly setup your game: http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/baininstallguide. If any instructions are unclear, ask away. I hope you have stopped by the Oblivion mods FAQ pinned at the top of this forum though. It will make things easier all around. Do not rush ahead in the guide. It walks you step-by-step through each part of the installation process (for Oblivion and mods.) Uninstall the mods you have put into the data folder before starting. You can start at step 2 instead of step 0 since your install is basically fresh and you have the GOTY version.

All I see on first look are still Vanilla body meshes, so the textures are of course not working.
Make sure when installing Robert's Male Body the files "upperbody.nif", "lowerbody.nif", "hand.nif" and "foot.nif" in your "meshes/characters/_male" folder are actually replaced (if there are any in there to begin with).

Also when checking body mods for correct installation make sure to "always" be nvde, strip completely. In Oblivion your body comes form your clothing, so wearing Vanilla items with non-replaced meshes will give you back the Vanilla body meshes while wearing them. That's why every body replacer has so-called Stock Clothing and Armor Replacers to replace those offending meshes.

But if it's not even looking right when nvde, which it isn't right now, then there went something wrong during installation of the body mod itself.
I agree, reading the stickied threads first, ecpecially the Oblivion Mods FAQ, will help in understanding (and choosing) proper installation procedure.
