1up article new info about magic combinations

http://www.1up.com/previews/elder-scrolls-skyrim-seven-things-need-to-know

1 up article says magic combos are being tried out now...it also states u can say cast a detect life spell then use an illiusion spell to make them fight and watch the fight through the walls...the coolest though is when todd cast a shield spell and added chain lighting to it..any enemy that ran at him got electrucuted when they hit the magic shield around him
Also several articles have mentioned that u can now use the 3d inventory menu (resident evil style) to solve puzzles but 1up stated that in the situation todd looked at the bottom of the claw statue in his menu to figure out wich order a set of tumblers needed to go into the door that unlocks the treasure room..this is all in relation to the quest lucan gives u to find his family hierloom which was stolen by a thief..wen u get the heirloom u can return then and there or go ahead; examine the claw; and figure out the puzzle to further riches THEN return it.

This is EXACTLY the kind of information I was waiting for. Thanks a lot. I'm glad to hear that spells will be fluid and have combinations. It was either that, or we get spell making. Not having one or the other would have made magic very, very bland.

Well as i said TRYING IT OUT is the keyword here...the article says that alot of the animations for spell combos were pretty iffy looking and didnt work as naturally as others..so they still have time but then again they still have a lot of stuff to work on; add; and polish

I know, but it seems that's the way they're going with it. Its fluid and logical, which fits with the vibe of the rest of the gameplay of Skyrim. If it makes sense to do it, you should be able to do it.

" 7) Can You Finally Sleep in Someone Else's Bed, Even if That Person is Dead?
"That's actually on our task list, I put it there myself. I thought, 'this is pissing me off.' I'm confident we'll have this fixed by now."

And THIS was exactly the information I was looking for. :celebration:

This just screams moddable, as in there is a chance to mod in spellcreation.

you already have charging spells with two Hands...I'll just spam that animation, see what scripts we can get going and based on the spell combination BOOM, you remember it, and its in your spell book.

I'd like to see Shield + Fire/Frost/Shock, to make a shield spell that does fire/frost/shock damage to enemies that hit you.

Those strike me as more of Shield + Resist Fire/Frost/Shock combinations.

This is some epic news! I hope they spend some time mastering the animations so they can be in the final product.

At least this time they are telling us what might not make the cut, unlike Oblivion.

So wait, due to life detect they were able to send the illusion spell through the wall? Well, that's pretty cool.

Here's hoping spell combination makes it to the end product, it could add to testing out a lot of combinations before entering into a fight.

What I wan't to know about magic is how it interacts when it hits the enemies magic. Call me a dbz fan, but its my dream to get into a flamethrower battle with a dragon, waiting to see who gives first, my magicka or its voice.

They also deal damage to those who strike you, at least in Morrowind they did.

Just a note that the possibility of combining spells was also touched on in this preview: http://www.giantbomb.com/news/skyrim-is-looking-like-the-elder-scrolls-evolved/3048/

It's in the section marked "Combat". Here's the relevant paragraph:

Melee combat in Skyrim looks largely unchanged from Oblivion, in that you sort of bluntly hack at your opponent when you attack, though you will get scripted execution animations from time to time depending on how the fight is going. Blocking and bashing with shields also looks pretty familiar. The spell system, frankly, looks pretty awesome. You can assign spells to either hand, of course, but then you can combine them on the fly, almost Magicka-style. At one point Howard was using a sword with a heal spell in his off hand, then quickly switched his sword hand to the same heal spell, and you could see the character visibly channel the energies from each hand into a glowing orb that resulted in a massive health boost. In another instance, he put together a fire spell with an area-of-effect shockwave to add a fire effect to the radial blast. I didn't get a sense of how many different spells will be compatible with each other, but this looks like a pretty fun system to play around with.

True but only in Morrowind, I didn't know that actually in all the years I played the game.

Actually I read a few of the articles and from what I read they didn't do a combo, Todd just used detect life to see the enemies ahead and then used what I assume was a frenzy spell to make the two enemies start fighting. He was still going up the mountain when it was done. It was never said he combined the spells like how he used the shield and lightning spells.

He didn't 'fuse' them just used one after the other.

Indeed. Todd used detect life to see if there were any enemies first, which there were. Then he used an illusion spell, to make one turn on the other. There will be spell combinations though.

Source? All I remember is that Todd said that they definitely wanted to do spell combos, but didn't know it they would make it in.
