200 Years later? What are the borders?

Post » Wed Jul 21, 2010 11:03 pm

If the game takes place 200 years after The Oblivion Crysis, what provences got bigger?

We can all say that Argonia got bigger, Morrowind got smaller. What about the other provences. I think Cyrodiil was eaten away at. Provences like Skyrim, Hammerfell, and Argonia might have taken former terratory back. Skyrim might have totally different borders. What do you guys think?

Bigger:
Skyrim
Argonia (Black Marsh)
Hammerfell
Valenwood
--------------------------------
Smaller:
Morrowind
Cyrodiil
--------------------------------
Im expecting a new shape to Vvardenfell, when red mountains blows up, lava should shape a new land, and that being 50 years after the Oblivion crysis. Maybe in 200 years the land is calming down and starts to grow vegatation.

*This is not for guessing the size of the gameworld In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim! Its for guessing the size of Tamriel's provences in general.

Well, according to "The Infernal City", MorrowindVvardenfell is destroyed. You have a good point. After the strife have the borders changed?

The map territory will probably be the same but the closer you get to the provinces the more of that race or supporters you might encounter just watch how many imperials you will see in it let alone the variety of people has increased.

Vvardenfell is, the rest of Morrowind was just invaded by the Argonians. (Off-topic, but how does spell check get "Roofgarden" from Vvardenfell?)

Argonia probably encompasses all of the remotely liveable areas of what used to be Morrowind, perhaps after 200 years Morrowind might have healed from the Red Year.

I honestly can say you will be able too, I have a strong feeling that Skyrim owns northern cyrodiil.

I would expect that Morrowind would remain as a bit of a ruined province with Dunmer still living there and all, but under the control of Black Marsh. I mean, Argonians are beasty lizard-men and all, but I don't think they're genocidal or anything.

considering the Jeralls are very likely to be the impassable southern border i'd say it's unlikely.

Even if you can visit the same cities 200yrs later they would look nothing like they did in Oblivion. 200yrs is a long time and I'm sure many if not all of the buildings there would have been torn down at different times for the contruction of newer buildings. Castles and such may still be there, but I have a feeling if they do include the same cities the only similarity would be the name, the castle, and any notable terrain (such as rivers, mountains, etc.).

The first page of the article in Game Informer shows a partial map of Skyrim and the borders between southern Skyrim and northern Cyrodiil remain the same.

While it's hard to say exactly what the Borders will be, I feel vitually certain we will be able to travel far enough west to see Scathing Bay. I'd imagine you can even get your self boiled dead trying to jump in. At the very least we will see the ruins of Vvardenfell far across the churning waters.

Which would also mean we'd get a whole bunch more Dwemer Ruins to explore. Those mountains may even hold the answer to what really happened to them all those years ago.

And doesn't anyone else get the feeling that The Lord of Souls is going to tear down White Gold Tower? I'd like to travel far enough south to at least see that, off in the distance.

Yeah right. I highly doubt the Imperials would've allowed their own land to be invaded to such an extent.

Well in Oblivions time, maybe not but......
Spoiler
In the Infernal City, the empire is crumbling, what is Cyrodiil without the empire? Cyrodiil is more of a trading provence, other factions would easly invade in such a chaotic crysis. <---imo

I'd like to take the annoying adoring fan to dive rock again. Would be a funny easter egg if dive rock was in the game and there was a small bosmer at the bottom.
