Post » Tue Oct 18, 2011 6:25 pm

This is little off-topic but ive noticed a lot of games that came out in the year 2006 is in this year too. Also some films too.

2006 -
Gears of War
The Sims 2 Pets
Oblivion
Saints Row
Call of Duty 3 (the number 3 and third in the Call of Duty World War saga)
Resistance: Fall of Man
Dead Rising
Mortal Kombat Armageddon
Final Destination 3
Cars

2011 -
Gears of War 3
The Sims 3 Pets
Skyrim
Saints Row 3
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
Resistance 3
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record
Mortal Kombat 9
Final Destination 5
Cars 2

It is quite interesting seeing how all these games and films come to the same year again, there a probably a few more too. :turned:

All that means is that the economy is bad and companies dont want to take a risk on originality.

He's right though, most movies realeased this summer that were blockbuster hits were recycled ideas.

Transformers
Green Lantern
Thor
Pirates
X-men
Harry Potter
Twilight
Fast Five
Scream
Conan
Hangover

Well, some of the companies in that list ARE trying to bring variety in what they offer; which is more than I can say for some the rest of them.

Skyrim being a game that seems to go above and beyond Oblivion.
Sure they might 'recycle' some of the lore, but that's what makes the games fun. While other games (like saints row 3) seem to be getting more random on each consecutive sequel.

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with 'recycling' ideas, as long as they try to make them work. Just recycling them to make money is a [censored] move, however.

Harry Potter

I agree with all of the titles you listed except that one.

How is it a "recycled idea" when it's the last film in the series? Were they supposed to stop after the first movie?

Twilight could be given the same argument, but quite frankly I hate that series so... :flamethrower:
