Voting will be held from today until the 25th, any votes cast after the 25th will not be counted -- the results thread will be posted up on either the 26th or the 27th. You may change your vote only once (lets be fair people) But do so in a new post and delete your old one.

Roleplay Categories:

Best rp of 2009: n/a (I came into the year much too late.)

Best ongoing rp of 2009: I'm aware that it hasn't been going on for too long, but it's already nearing the second thread. I vote for Half-Tooth's 'Dark Bloods'. Half-Tooth came back and gave the forums a brilliant and fresh idea with variety and plenty of fun.

Most innovative rp of 2009: n/a (My mind was blown by the level of diversity everyone displayed this year, therefore, I cannot cast a vote on this one.)

Most improved rp'er of 2009: n/a I've rp'ed alongside some of the best of the best. I cannot vote at this time.

Best character in a roleplay of 2009: n/a

Best overall roleplayer of 2009: n/a

Fanfiction Categories:

Best fanfic of 2009: n/a

Best ongoing fanfic of 2009: n/a

Most improved fanfic writer of 2009: Although sometimes he can be a little big-headed, it would be foolish of me to ignore the amount of work and effort Zalphon has put into improving himself. I vote for Zalphon.

Best character's in a fanfic of 2009: n/a

Best fanfic critique/reviewer of 2009: I gladly vote for Darkom, who's helped many of us better our grammar, punctuation, etc... One could even say he mirrors Frodo. (If any of you remember him.)

Note: Solidor I do plan on changing the n/a votes I have on here. I just haven't had the time to read over all of the fanfics and rp's of 2009. I just wanted to go ahead and get my slot started.

Roleplay Categories

Best RP of 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): The Dark Blood Guild.

Best Ongoing RP (RP's created before 2009 allowed): The Dark Blood Guild. Ya'know, Halfy's RP. It's pretty cool. Or might become pretty cool.

Most innovative RP 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): Verlox's Spell-Scar/Shadows of the City

Most Improved RPer of 2009: Lord Dren. I mean, last time he joined an RP I was in, he was a [censored]. Now it seems he's able to RP with the best of them.

Best Character in a Roleplay 2009: Nytt. With his apples. I like the character. Seriously.

Best Overall Roleplayer of 2009: Illusionary Nothing. Easy as that.

Roleplay Categories

Best RP of 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): Wow, how could I ever decide? But I'm determined to cast my vote for something, so I'll just go with what I know. "Find a New Emperor" by Illusionary Nothing. The hosting was great, the characters were awesome, and the idea was near flawless. There were a lot of great RPs, but this is the most memorable.

Best Ongoing RP (RP's created before 2009 allowed): The Immortal Blood Timeline. Really the only RP I know of that lasted through the year. I'm not even sure it did, actually

Most innovative RP 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): "Mechanical Hearted Menace" by Atomic. It ended way too soon, but it was a darn creative idea. I loved how creative the hosting was too, if you were a part of it you probably understand :D But for second place I would say "The Vivec Incident" by Swift Blade.

Most Improved RPer of 2009: This one's a little relative, so judging from where they started and where they are now, discluding those that quit, I would say Zalphon. Going from having Umbra as a weapon in once of his first RPs to where he is now, hands down I'd give him this award.

Best Character in a Roleplay 2009: Polymorph's "Byron Dreugh-Winder" in "Find a New Emperor". Might not remember him, but I couldn't get over how great he was in that RP.

Best Overall Roleplayer of 2009: DarkNova; I thought about it for a while, but I consistently notice excellent posts from him. Grammatically correct, creative, and they always help the RP, not hinder it.

Fanfic Categories

Best Fanfic of 2009 (Fanfics created before 2009 excluded): I can't even begin to think of which to choose, but once again I am determined to cast a vote for everything, so I'll give it to Acadian's "Buffy the Bowgirl".

Best Ongoing Fanfic (Fanfics created before 2009 allowed): Peleus' "A New Kind of Warfare". Quite a few were really good, but this story actually got me into writing. If that's not saying something, nothing is. If I had to choose a close second, it would be "Manic Dementia"

Most Improved Fanfic Writer of 2009: Malx; he started in September and now his story is quoted for excellence and creativity. If that's not improvement, I don't know what is :D

Best Characters in a fanfic (characters in fanfics created before 2009 allowed): Siena Hlaalu of "Manic Dementia" by FC4. Convincing and creative, she always feels real and vibrant, even when she's going crazy.

Best Fanfic Critic/Reviewer of 2009: This one was really close, but since I had to choose just one, it's got to be Shades. He consistently takes the time to really anolyze stories, and give the most meaningful critiques for that story. His specific pointers don't just point out what's wrong, but help you find your own way to correct the problem.

Roleplay Categories

Best RP of 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): The Dark Bloods; why? I love the opportunities it brings and the smoothness with which it has so far been running. It has extremely good potential and is very fun so far even.

Best Ongoing RP (RP's created before 2009 allowed): Though it has officially been snipped, Queen's Waltz was a great Rp for a time. However, basically the entire Immortal Bloodline Rp series ought to get this award. They just keep going, and going, and going...

Most innovative RP 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): Mechanical Hearted Menace by Atomic, which held promise of being the next big TES:BIOSHOCK but never really managed to get that Dwemeri CPU on the metal torso straight.

Most Improved RPer of 2009: I am afraid that at this point in time, I simply cannot say.

Best Character in a Roleplay 2009: Arslan, the nomadic Ra Gada played by Person from Anticlere. He was very culturally inspired, very realistic considering his predicament, and just felt like nothing was being played wrong with that character. Believable through and through.

Best Overall Roleplayer of 2009: Shockingly... Immortal Blood. While one might wish to say Illusionary, I feel Immortal Blood has to receive some recognition now for what he does, and consistently does, throughout each year. This guy both runs and participates in RPs that are very quality, always trying to innovate this and enliven that. There is no finished work for him, and he tries his hardest to make his rps the best possible. With good posts and good management, considering the frequent issues he has to deal with while running a popular rp, Immortal Blood is the best of '09.

Fanfic Categories -Haven't been on this scene much regrettably, although I may return to continue writing, who knows.

Well I haven't been around properly for most of the year, so I;'ll have to leave a load of categories blank :(

Roleplay Categories

Best RP of 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded):N/A

Best Ongoing RP (RP's created before 2009 allowed):N/A

Most innovative RP 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): N/A

Most Improved RPer of 2009: N/A I haven't been around to see anyone improve

Best Character in a Roleplay 2009: I really really qwish I could vote for Jackorn, FC$'s vampire character, but I think that RP was last year, and I have only been in 2 RPs this year. So I am torn between Sondil (Solidors nuerotic necromancer who thinks his dog talks to him constantly) and Darion (DarkNova's character who arived in Balmora floating down the Oadi river on a door :D) But my Vote goes to Sondil.

Best Overall Roleplayer of 2009:I'm going to say DarkNova because his post about Darion arriving on a door raft made me laugh so much in real life and not many people can do that.

Fanfic Categories

Best Fanfic of 2009 (Fanfics created before 2009 excluded): Solidor's Through the eyes of a vampire is my favourite from this year it starts off like Anne Rice's Interveiew with a vampire writing style but Solider slowly morphed it into his own writing style is it's just fascinating to red (to me anyway)

Best Ongoing Fanfic (Fanfics created before 2009 allowed):
N/A

Most Improved Fanfic Writer of 2009: N/A

Best Characters in a fanfic (characters in fanfics created before 2009 allowed):

Best Fanfic Critic/Reviewer of 2009: The most memorable one is BSparrow but I am hesitant to vote for her for one reason which is I don't want to overlook anyone who gives just as good critique but doesn't do it as often so I'll edit this a bit later

Thanks Halfy, I didnt expect to see any for me this year.

Roleplay Categories

Best RP of 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): Dark Bloods, Its well managed and well thought out with an interesting mix of characts roaming about, i see this one going a long way, which is always a bonus.

Best Ongoing RP (RP's created before 2009 allowed): For reasons stated above I'm going to shamelessly vote for the Immortal blood time line, you cant keep a good dog down.

Most innovative RP 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): Probably Mechanical hearted menace by Atomic, that thing had so much damn potential it was a shame it died so early. I'd love to see a come back for it some time (HINT). I'm actually pulling inspiration from both this RP and TES bioshock for my own rp.

Most Improved RPer of 2009: Ehhh this is a tough one. I'd like to say i've been in enough RP's to see a definate improvement but i really havent, so i'll leave this for a few days and see what happens. EDIT: Gunna have to say wooly, the guy has pissed me off loads in the past but i cant deny he's improved his writing as well as attitude recently.

Best Character in a Roleplay 2009: Definately Serosi/Andrethi. He was an interesting enough character to begin with, then he got amnesia and became even more interesting. Fun guy all around.

Best Overall Roleplayer of 2009: For FC4's reasons Immortal blood. Its not just about the quality of writing and good ideas, its the management and patience he has.

I'll be leaving my votes for the fanfiction section out for now, I'm not going to vote until i read some more (over the next few days) so i can vote fairly and objectively, theres alot of stuff i need to catch up on fanfiction wise :P

@ Elgen, you put Darkbloods in the wrong section, use the one above it. Darkblood wasnt made before 2009.
Also try finding out the name for that RP, i wasnt a part of it so i wouldnt know, be a shame for a vote to go uncounted because i couldnt find out what RP you where talking about.

Since I'm basically Christ, I vote myself for everything. Or do I...

Roleplay Categories

Best RP of 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): Queen's Waltz. Despite the problems with it, it was still a very fun RP. I wish we could have got the undead plot up and going, but eh.

Best Ongoing RP (RP's created before 2009 allowed): N/A

Most innovative RP 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): Atomic's "Mechanical Hearted Menace" and my "Spell-Scar Incident" (There you go Elgen!)

Most Improved RPer of 2009: Woolymammoth. He really cleaned up his act later along.

Best Character in a Roleplay 2009: N/A

Best Overall Roleplayer of 2009: Solidor.

Fanfic Categories

Best Fanfic of 2009 (Fanfics created before 2009 excluded): N/A

Best Ongoing Fanfic (Fanfics created before 2009 allowed): N/A

Most Improved Fanfic Writer of 2009: Do we even need to vote about it? Zalphon, easy.

Best Characters in a fanfic (characters in fanfics created before 2009 allowed): N/A

Best Fanfic Critic/Reviewer of 2009: Treydog

Or just myself for everything. Since I'm God :P

Haha, well thanks Elgen! Yes, I must admit, I was a [censored] when I first joined the forums. Anyone remember Twinkle Flat-Foot the Garden Gnome? A very sarcastic and useless character I created after being denied entry into an rp during my first few months on the forums. Haha. Boy was I [censored].

I will pass on the RP side as I have not yet gotten into that. :embarrass:

Fanfic Categories. :read: Wow, this was hard! There is just so darn much incredible talent and wonderful stories on our forum! Well, here goes:

Best Fanfic of 2009 : Maxical's Journey, by mALX. I quite simply love this story.

Best Ongoing Fanfic : Blood on the Moon, by treydog. If there is a story and author on the forum I would ever hope to emulate, this is it. I get positively giddy when treydog posts a new chapter.

Most Improved Fanfic Writer of 2009: mALX. I know of no writer that works as hard at improving her craft. She has come so very, very far since just September. She has become a fine writer in all regards and truly a master plotweaver.

Best Characters in a fanfic : Athlain (and Athynae) from treydog's Blood on the Moon. The delicate dance they do in and amongst their adventures leaves me speechless.

Best Fanfic Critic/Reviewer of 2009: SubRosa. Critiques frequently. Master of her craft. Takes the time to carefully create helpful comments tailored to the talent level of the writer. Wonderful insight. Ready, willing and able to lend a cheerful hand to aspiring writers who wish to improve. Balances all this into wonderful critiques that are full of help, encouragement and tact.

Roleplay Categories

Best RP of 2009: I may edit this later if I think of one, but I think most of the great ones I was in this year, save Dark Bloods, were started in '08. For fairness, vote withheld until further notice.

Best Ongoing RP:
Although it died midway in the year, Those Remaining will always hold a special place in my heart. Raven kept us on our toes with all kinds of plot twists, the Hurak were a fearsome and mysterious enemy, and it was one of few post-apocalypse RPs I've seen that had nothing to do with the Oblivion Crisis or Daedra.

Most innovative RP 2009: Verlox's Spell-Scar/Shadows of the City (that the one you meant, Elgen?), without a doubt. The amount of thought put into it was amazing, despite the fact that it always seemed to die just before things started getting interesting. I'm hoping that when/if he ever gives it a fourth shot, it'll live to kick ass.

Most Improved RPer of 2009: Originally was going to be a 'Hell if I know' answer here, but after some thought, I'd have to say Woolymammoth. He's evolved a lot over the year and I think he's more than earned this.

Best Character in a Roleplay 2009: So many to choose from. I'm tempted to pick one of Illusionary's many adorable creations, but I think the character I came to love most was Lance Cochrane from the above mentioned Those Remaining. I felt for the guy, and he was absolutely hilarious when he was in his element.

Best Overall Roleplayer of 2009: DarkNova50. Every time I've RPed with him, he's had good, well worded posts and interesting, believable characters.

Solidor, I put it there on purpose, 'cause I thought it fit the category better. But I'll just put it in both of them to make sure, mkay?

And Lord Dren, I denied you access to an RP myself back in those days. Because you were acting like a dike. I've still got your character screencapped somewhere.

EDIT: I love you, Aula.

Best Ongoing RP (RP's created before 2009 allowed): The ImmortalBlood Timeline, no doubt.

Most innovative RP 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): Atomic's Mechanical Hearted Menace.

Most Improved RPer of 2009: Ehhh... I'll get back to you on this one.

Best Character in a Roleplay 2009: Chriso123's character Jartod from my City of Shadows. Dunno why, but I really liked that character.

Best Overall Roleplayer of 2009: As has been said before, I'm going to vote for ImmortalBlood.

Wooly for the Best rp character award it needs to be a specific character you've come across in an RP, so pick out one of PFA's that is your favourite and edit it in :P Othewrise this is going to be a confusing mess for me when it comes to counting votes :(

EDIT: My bad got mixed up

I don't know how DarkNova came up with that, but I had to read it again just to be sure I had read it correctly. That has to be one of the funniest things I've seen in a roleplay for a long time :P Would certainly have gotten my vote for best character had Polymorph's not let such an impression on me. Makes me kind of jealous comparing them to my own characters :( Oh well, congradulations there!

A little overconfident, Verlox? I'm wondering if you are even allowed to call yourself Christ here...

It's tradition that I claim all the titles for myself in one fell swoop, usually making a reference to God or something. If I was serious, I would be much more insufferable.

Agreed, it's better than some of the seriousness around here. Though it is kind of insufferable in its own way  Probably better than a stoic Verlox though.

A tradition? How have I not noticed?

Oh, and how could I forget? To say something on topic, I thank everyone that put any votes for me, though your praise would probably be better suited for BSparrow or Shades, I have hardly made a decent critique in the past month. Some of the longer stories by the better writers just leaves me with compliments, and what kind of a critique is that? Until some more new writers come in I'll have to say that I'm pretty useless for advice :P But if you need help with anything, don't let that keep you from asking, I'm always willing to lend a hand.

EDIT:
Best Fanfic Critic/Reviewer of 2009: Darkom95. Takes his own time and makes nice, long and helpful posts. I find he can rub ya the wrong way sometimes, but if you can take it, his advice is incredible useful!

What are you talking about :P I have always been polite and graceful, there have only been a handful of people that have ever said anything but "Thank you" for my critiques. Oh, and you don't have to put the '95, my age is all too obvious anyways.

Best RP of 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): Queen's Waltz/A Tale of Two Thrones And The Crown of Thorns (calling them one and the same for ease) just because it was, like all other Timeline RP's, well thought out with a great cast of Rp'ers.

Best Ongoing RP (RP's created before 2009 allowed): ImmortalBlood Timeline. Even with a meltdown, there are already more being planned out and just the fact it's lived on so long speaks volumes.

Most innovative RP 2009 (RP's created before 2009 excluded): Spell-Scar Incident. A really neat idea and promising RP that had lots of cool ideas, except it never got far.

Most Improved RPer of 2009: Easily Woolymammoth. I remember him in the Dead Horde and he drove me nuts and I had dropped out! But he has really improved in my eyes.

Best Character in a Roleplay 2009: ImmortalBlood's Andrethi.

Best Overall Roleplayer of 2009: I have to go with ImmortalBlood this year. His posts are always full and long, which is especially amazing considering he was the host of a large RP and in control of countless numbers of characters. I never truly appreciated his skill until I was able to RP with him this past year.

Fanfic Categories

Best Fanfic of 2009 (Fanfics created before 2009 excluded): Ummmm..... errrr.... I haven't really read many FF's this year, but I guess I'll go with.... Acadian's Buffy the Bowgirl.

Best Ongoing Fanfic (Fanfics created before 2009 allowed): Of Fate, Luck and Ambition by BSparrow. Shame it hasn't been updated much, but when I have free time I love going back and reading it.

Most Improved Fanfic Writer of 2009: Zalphon. Go back and read his first story (not saying it was awful) and read his latest ones and tell me the improvement isn't exponential.

Best Characters in a fanfic (characters in fanfics created before 2009 allowed): Still Damendrel from BSparrow. Same reasons as last year, though we haven't seen much of him this year, because of his witty humor in the face of crazed cultists.

Best Fanfic Critic/Reviewer of 2009: Darkom95. Takes his own time and makes nice, long and helpful posts. I find he can rub ya the wrong way sometimes, but if you can take it, his advice is incredible useful! ;)
