I also agree the pistol did look a bit odd and too low...

While you are right about Vaults not being anything new, it's this individual Vault that is interesting. Then you start to wonder where is this Vault located in the Mojave Wasteland? What is the Vault's purpose? That kind of thing...

Also, to sum up as much as I can on frame 1:43:

  • Armored Vault 21 Suit
  • Remodeled Plasma Pistol
  • Mutated Giant Mantis
  • TONS of vegetation
  • Some Mutated mushrooms
  • And the Vault Entrance

Ooh, and it seems there there is a new plasma pistol model. And it also seems like there is a tree growing out of the vault.

Am I the only one that noticed that an Eyebot took 3+ anti tank rounds? I'm scared :(

I think its a S.P.E.C.I.A.L. eye robot :P get it special. That eye robot sure was on a mission, usually those stupid things start firing lasers at things that fire at it.

I think that either the shooter had a crappy aim, or that Eyebot had some determination...

It looks to have glowing mushrooms inside of it too. I think that we can expect an overgrown vault full of plants and mutated bugs.

I likeeeeee that idea :) I can see survivors inside freaking out maybe hunting the bugs and eating plants to survive.

How so? They look good to me.

View is from high up (like pistol is being held too low).

Looks like the pistol is being held at throat level instead of eye level.

Hm, that eyebot.... Must be reprogrammed, or maybe, an update for the Floating eye bot from Fallout1/2 No reason it would be spouting such a..... different type of music than in fallout 3.

Seriously, Enclave are cool and all, but there is no way they can come back, for the sake of good storytelling, obsidian wouldn't bring them back!
First, their main base is destroyed in fallout 2, the remaining soldiers flee to the east, then get beat up in fallout 3, and hunted down in broken steel.
They weren't that big to begin with, being a small hidden away organization composed of only the US gov't, after THREE huge ass-whoopin's, I think they'd be down and out.

Well.... RIP good old American Enclave then. :cryvaultboy:

Okay, out of my system. Have to say, EPIC TRAILER, I love how the animations are... well, so much more than they were in Fallout 3, I'm still counting on those improved facial animations though, it'd be nice. Anyway, Those rocket's look cool, and the cave of mirelurks... and the vegetation!
Seems like there will be a fair amount of cinematic/epic scenes in the NV.

Well, it doesn't necessarily have to be an Enclave eyebot...

1:39 desert looks nice- better than other stuff I've seen. Drier looking sand would be cool, though

It kind of does. Unless it was reprogrammed.

It could just be flying rogue, following it's last string of code given by the Enclave, to the letter. To what end, who knows?

That would be my guess also. Or maybe there's no eye robot in game at all and it was just used to make a cute trailer.

How do you know those were anti-tank rounds?

Ok fine point is, the eyebot got shot by a really big gun 3 times and it was still going.

HE'S SUCH A TROOPER :')

In all serious that looks like the anti material/anti tank rifle they talked about in that one interview

The whole ironsights thing just makes me wonder if he was actually using the sights at all...

The camera wasn't zoomed up to the gun like the other sights had them, like the grenade launcher for example.

It's possible they've simply replaced the "hip fire" and "passive stance" animation from Fallout 3, which had you walking around with the pistol clutched to your side with a bent elbow, with a more natural stance based on a relaxed weaver/isosceles stance. Because of this the gun is centered in the screen even when "hip fired", similar to the http://revistagames.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/doom11.jpg way of displaying your gun.

This is my hope.

@EnduringProtectron: Check 1:36 for better looking ironsight.
