Why does it have to be Episode 3? Couldn't it just be Half-Life 3?

Agreed, seriously, why wont they work on half-life 2 episode 3?

It's been 3 years since episode 2. And we've heard nothing about episode 3, not even an announcement that they have started working on it.

What's the point of a cliffhanger ending if you're going to wait until everyone has forgotten about it?

Maybe they've gone the way of bethesda and have lost their interest for the half life series. Granted a 3 year hiatus to rekindle their interest in the series is a little much but still it's a possibility.

(Yes I know bethesda will eventually make another tes game. It was the easiest comparison I could come up with.)

Yes, but TES: Oblivion, was a fully completed story after Shivering Islands (I dont think I've seen a more conclusive ending to a story then having your main character actually becoming A GOD!).

It makes sense for them to then go work on something else because that story is over, so they'd have to start something completely different for the next game.

But this is like Bioware decided to wait for 5 years before starting to work on Mass effect 3, and instead pumped out only Dragon age titles and even a new Jade empire game. It's great, but I want to see more of their best series and see the conclusion to the story.

Grand Theft Auto V.

But I doubt it's going to be announced, so...FNV, FNV, FNV!

By that logic FO3 can be ended conclusively without even playing through the storyline.

Or if they decided to not wait for years to make another Baldur's Gate. Oh... Nah, I'm sure Bethesda will announce TESV at QuakeCon!

I still want to see something for left4dead. New game, new campaigns, hell even just a new special infected would be enough for me.

I agree with you man, but it just doesn't feel like a big enough jump for me. I don't mean to start a boycott but L4D2 really just felt like an expansion to L4D in my opinion.

Fun Fact: Originally everything about left4dead2 was meant to be an expansion. But then valve started messing around with the coding and all that good stuff and realized that everything woulda just been too massive for an expansion. New programming/coding, dynamic levels (which were A LOT BIGGER than what they are now. It's just, the level changing randomly confused the testers so valve cut a lot of it away.), a good amount of new weapons including a whole new type of weapon, 5 full fledged campaigns, and 3 new special infected including new models for the old special infected except the witch (you could count the passing I guess.). If I'm not mistaken the new survivors are only around because they just wanted to complete the new experience instead of throwing the old survivors across the map for no reason.

Why couldn't they keep the portal 2 event, not tell us about the surprise and then show us that at E3 so that is will be an ACTUAL surprise. [censored] dumb. -_- I love valve, but sometimes I just get so sick of their cheeky shenanigans and want them to get the point.

But no other corporation could be so suspense inducing with press releases.

As anybody who keeps up to date on TF2 News knows, Valve are massive trolls. This is another example happening right here.

I'm looking forward to seeing Zelda Wii, TES 5 (hopefully), Fallout: New Vegas, Spess Mehren Space Marine, Little Big Planet 2 and Portal 2. Also, would it really kill valve to put at least one update to the 360 and/or PS3 version of TF2? They have been promising that they will make one for a few years now, only to give excuses. Hopefully the surprise will make the death of one of their best games (on 360 and PS3, the PC one is still alive) worth it.

Theres a lot of games i want to see. Brink, Fallout NV, TES V :ahhh:. Then theres GTA (maybe new dlc), COD 7, any game made by Valve, hopefully a sneak peak of mass effect 3, Little Big Planet 2. Oh and like Connor123 said below, the space marines game looks interesting.

Thats quite a lot ... Ive think i missed some.

Does anyone know if Naughty Dog is going to be at the show?

I REALLY wish they would do another Jak & Daxter game rather than Uncharted... Or do a remake of the series for the PS3... Or just port the trilogy like the God of War collection did... <_<

Where would they go with the Jak and Daxter trilogy? They got Jak's lineage, and how his father was an outcasted leader, and how he was sort of the next leader, but decided against it...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jak_X:_Combat_Racing after the Trilogy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_Frontier, PSP and PS2 only though.

So there is room for expansion. But honestly with no backwards compatibility they need to re-release the trilogy on the PS3 somehow at least.

Imagine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QW3bInxgmc commercial as an anology to what I am about to say:

The snuggie is L4D3. And the guy tearing it off the screen is Gordon Freeman. Text appears, and says: "Episode 3."

Now THAT, would be a great surprise.
