2011 game your looking most forward to

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:05 pm

With all the games announced for this year, which are you yearning to play the most. Right now I'm most looking forward to is Rage. A little while ago this answer would have probably been different, but with the new Dragon Age games looking more like a action rpg reboot than a faithful sequel, and Human Revolution getting pushed back, here it is. Mass Effect 3 would have topped the list as well, but having seen what they did with MA2, im probably not even picking that up around launch if they don't make some serious changes . . . where was I? Oh yes. So, what games tickling your fancy?

Let me go check my preorder list...
I guess Radiant Historia it isn't something that exists or a sequel/prequal...0 so no real hopes being dashed when something is missing or it turns out to be [censored]tier than previous releases.

Skyrim, Diablo 3 and... well that's about it. Mass Effect 3 will be nice I suppose, but I'll probably get it when Steam has a sale or something.

That is precisely why my poor ass prefers to wait about half a year (Unless the price drops rapidly) before buying new releases.

As for my games, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Skyrim.

With the caveat that I am by no means a heavy gamer... Skyrim and Portal 2 are the only games that I'm currently considering as must-buy.

Tales of Graces f
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Last Guardian
Mass Effect 3

Xenoblade is still on Nintendo's NA release schedule, and I'm really holding out hope for The Last Story.Maybe even Tales of Xillia if Graces does well, though that probably wouldn't be 2011. Also a bunch of other TBA games, like Mega Man Legends 3 and Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, both of which are unlikely to see a 2011 release, but ya never know.

There are few games due this year that have really blown me away so far, but on the other hand there is a good number of which I will buy some if the reviews and/or media releases convince me. I'll leave a list of potential buys.

Gray Matter, Homefront, Shogun 2: Total War, Crysis 2, F.E.A.R. 3, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Brink, Rage, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Dirt 3, Driver: San Francisco, Mass Effect 3, Tomb Raider, F1 2011, SBK X2.

If none of them really svck, I'll have to go and look around the globe for a tree that grows money. On top of that I might buy Fallout: New Vegas GOTY with all the DLC.

Checking the release list, four of them are coming out in March with Homefront and Shogun 2 both on the 15th and Crysis 2 and F3AR both on the 22nd. The Witcher 2 and Brink both come out on the 17th of May. That's stupid. Massacre garanteed. This means four drop off the list anyhow if I'm entertained enough by those I did buy, since I won't buy more than one in a month.
EDIT: Oh, nice. Dirt 3 also released in May.

Holy guacamole, the 17th of May...

Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I know I shouldn't get too overhyped about this one but holy [censored]!

And Skyrim of course. There are some other games but these two I'm looking forward to the most.

The Witcher 2
Mass Effect 3
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Guild Wars 2 (is that still coming out in 2011?)
Shogun 2: Total War
Skyrim.

In that order.

The first four I will almost certainly get on release. For Shogun and Skyrim I'll probably wait till they're much cheaper. I didn't like Empire and Oblivion so I'm cautious about spending my money on potentially equally crappy sequels.
