E3-2011

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:33 am

We all know that's never gonna happen

I'm just saying.. I don't think Alduin will just be a giant dragon. Dragon yes. But not some generic, scaled, giant, fire-breathing lizard going "hai guise, I r ate ur wurldz lulz"

I WANT TO SEE ALDUIN

Microsoft has nothing at all for remotely exciting coming into E3,they also premiered Fallout 3 and oblivion game play demos at previous shows. Skyrim being the big dog having more pre orders then unchated 3 and BF3 right now. http://www.vgchartz.com/preorders.php?date=40657 BF3 and uncharted are part of sony and EA press events that leaves Skyrim,Arkham and ME3. Unless Microsoft has exclusives a plenty in the pipeline skyrim would be the logical choice for E3. Thats what I base my ideas on but who can say.

Not live demos at their press briefing though.

I'm 99,99% sure you're gonna have to wait until Skyrim is released :)

But WoW showed their final boss, Deathwing.

"But TES isn't WoW" I know I know, it would just be nice to see a glimpse, hell, a shadow of Alduin.

I even bet it would help their marketing, so consumers can get an idea on what they're fighting. And entice them to buy the game even more :D

Even if Pete came out and said "no" I would still lean toward it being there. David jaffee did that last year with twisted metal flat out said they were would not be going to E3. June comes and sweetooth's truck is on stage.

I'm hoping to see plenty of gameplay videos that show the User Interface. I also want to know more about the gameplay.

Jaffe said Sony pretty much forced them to be there at the press briefing. Twisted Metal is a first party game. They do what Sony asks them to do. Skyrim is a third party game. If Pete says no, it means no. Nobody is going to force their hand.

Surely we can expect some gameplay with some combat. I'm sure they'll show off the environment a lot. Hopefully we'll get a better look at character creation and see more of the races.

What do you hope to see from Skyrim at E3-2011?

A tutorial on using the forum search, which returns 24 threads if you type "E3" into it.

Combat fluidity and conversation, those are the main things.
I also want to see how the spells are effected by how you hold down the cast button.
And I want to see the time slower shout.

A pretty lengthy gameplay walkthrough is in due order. It would be great for Todd to do it like he did for FO3. Just a basic run through of one dungeon showing off the wielding system, the menus, how combat is paced, and how great the environment looks

I still say Microsoft's crap pile is too small for E3,they have nothing in 2011 which is why they moved gears to its current date. I need to tweet pete and ask him.

I love Skyrim and Metallica too! :D

I hope to see beards and a little bit of gameplay. Keep the main surprises for when I play it.

A quick walk-through of the character creation screen, looking at each race, seeing a few changes to facial features to get an idea on how that works, that would be nice.

We've seen enough combat for now, frankly. I don't think there's anything really exciting to be had there. Guess what? You hit things with weapons and then they die. I want to know more about the world, the little things. I want them to walk into a room and pick up some items. I want definitive proof that Oblivion's economic strangling has not been applied, where every non-scaling item is invariably worth <= 50 gold (novice alembics for everyone!.) I want the character to have a conversation with an NPC. (You can still talk to NPCs, right? They haven't removed that? Speechcraft is gone, so I don't know anymore. I suppose it's too much to hope that non-combat quests will exist.)

You live in a cave, bro? You need to chillax. NPC convos will be better than ever. Read the articles on the Beth Blog, man.

There have always been and always will be non-combat quests, btw.....and I'm hoping you were just being pessimistically sarcastic when you said all that in the parentheses....

I agree. Not going to happen.
Anyway, just little over 5 months from E3 to release date.
You could start a topic on root canol surgery in Skyrim, you know, to kill time.

I'd be happy with a 5 minute clip of the world in-game.

Similiar to when they firsted showed the Fallout game and Todd took his character out of the vault and onto the scenic outlook. With megaton and the highschool in the distance.

That but Skyrim style would be enough for me :)

How the crime and punishment system works as well as the tweaks to stealth etc. But otherwise just generally what other people have said: more races, actual gameplay, the cities, environment etc.

-I'd like to hear about the games factions and guilds and a little more detail on the rebel/Imperial conflict and the possible role we will be able to play in it.
-I'd like to see Mounts confirmed and seen in action.
-More Combat and general gameplay, but nothing too quest specific or in-depth (beyond Bleak Falls Barrow)
-I'd like to see each of the races.
-I'd like to see steps 4011-4036 and step 6999.
-I'd like to see this interface they keep talking about, and hear about a few more of the perks.
-Combined spell effects in action.
-Dual wield in action.
-A little bit of the character creator.
-Crafting or alchemy of some sort.
-New conversation system in action.
-And an in-depth look at one of the major cities.

I don't know if they will take questions from random attendees watching the presentation, but I will certainly try to ask questions.

I'll honestly expect the 40 minute demo those journalists got to see and from that we should get a good idea.
