No it doesn't. I'm talking about those who knew it was about computer issue and not mother nature. Why those have to say this. I never heard of the end of the world form Y2K bug but only a date issue in electronic. What's to fear?

So, since this had nothing to do with mother nature, why even compare it to 2012. Two different things, none of my friends and family even thought of natural disasters.

You asked why do people compare Y2K and 2012. I answered thusly: they're both end-of-the-world predictions that did/will not come true. That's why people compare them. Are you seeing this? It has nothing to do with mother nature or numbers.

Nevermind, but the question is still unanswered.

Y2K was about more than a date issue. It was assumed that the date issue would cause nukes to malfunction and launch, planes to crash, etc, etc, etc.

Thanks, thats the answer I was looking for. Well, I knew that wasn't going to happen, so thats why I asked. Like I said, I found Y2K not fear-able but 2012 is different scenario to me. Well I still think it's not comparable to 2012 but thats my opinion.

That is a gold figurine found in the jungles of South America. Among 100's of these figurines, mostly depicting people, animals,-yes, even fish

. There were 2-3 that looked exactly like airplanes. A group of aerodynamics engineers built a large scale model of one of them, adding a small engine, and the thing flew just fine.

It works like this: You've made a rather large (if vague) claim. You must now present enough evidence for it. The rest of us will have a look at it and try to disprove it.
