2012 theory

Post » Thu May 20, 2010 6:06 am

but only because we're assimilating information at an astounding rate compared to even ten years ago. It's only a matter of time before the lowest common denominator in society wakes up to it as well.
Its just as shame that the lowest common denominator make up around 70% of the population.

This. The whole 2012 thing is nothing, but people who actually believe in it might harm themselves over it. Like that girl who killed herself because she feared the Large Hadron Collider would instantly destroy the world once it was activated, because the media exaggerated the whole thing. It's a damn shame.

That was [censored] irresponsible of the media to feed off people's lack of scientific knowledge like that. It was a [censored] atom smasher, not a doomsday weapon.

Agreed. The media is far too willing to entertain the claims of every crazed-loon on this side of the galaxy. If we ever find aliens, the media will spend years talking about their doomsday beliefs.

http://www.space4peace.org/images/michio_kaku.jpg says no. I trust the theoretical physicist who has the intelligence to legitimately work on a "theory for everything." Plus, he's on TV!

A TES V trailer is gonna be released in mid 2012. The game is going to be shipped December 2012, and half the world will pre order it. Bethesda has then been secretly overtaken by terrorist and instead of the game they will be shipping the newly made make-it-yourself A-bomb which will detonate when we open the package....

What?
....Why are you looking at me with that weird stare? :o

No sir, if they Mayans were so good at predicting... Why are they all dead!?

They aren't all dead. They're very much still alive.

Itmust be frustrating to be a Mayan. People claiming that you're dead all the time. How do they get loans?

No, this is not going to be the end of the world. That specific date on the Mayan calender isn't the end of the world, just the end of a cycle, something that has already been pointed out in this thread.

That means that a new cycle will begin, which could even mean beneficial things for mankind.

That is, of course, if you believe in the cycles of the Mayan calender.

Truth of the matter is, 2012 will bring upon mankind a hellish election year. Well, it will for Americans anyway. 2010 is a prelude to that electoral hell.

The world will not end in 2012
It won't even end at 14 minutes and 7 seconds past 3am on the 19th of January in the year 2038.

The are all the same thing.

So where will everyone be on the 21st of December 2012? Doing their late Christmas shopping and saying good-bye to their co-workers and friends, wishing them a happy new year and a joke or two about doomsday.
