E3 2016 Thread

I never said they weren't allowed to be happy, just that its odd to see these people who are praising it being the same people we often see complain about other titles being "the same" when they are far less similar than the skyrim rerelease will be to the original release..

not really something specific to Skyrims rerelease i suppose.. I often see other people complaining about other titles similarities get hype about other remasters.. maybe its just because those games are "hip to hate" or something, i dunno

anyways, I don't want to get off topic, I was not trying to be rude or say someone can't "like" a remaster if they want one, I was simply stating an observation

I was never a big Bioshock fan personally.. I can totally see why others may like it, but its just not what i look for in an FPS.. to each their own though :)

while it may not have shown any gaemplay, the trailer for the new south park game was pretty funny.. Stick of Truth had surprisingly good gameplay mechanics, so perhaps this new one will be worth picking up

Anyone else think the Ubisoft conference went on for too long? After it went past 90 minutes and was still going, I just wanted it to end, despite being better than usual.

I'm guessing that the Skyrim remaster will be 64-bit.

I think he means the engine that Fallout 4 is using which is a 64 bit. The engine is not new since it is upgraded from the one that Skyrim used.

I watched their presentation last night. I'm kind of underwhelmed.

Skyrim HD and mods for X-Bone/PS4 should be nice for those that want that. I'm not one.

Quake went with the arena route, which bummed me out, as I liked the first one's single player mode much better than any of the later, futuristic versions.

Dishonored I'd like to get into, but had troubles finding the first game (Bethesda's new site (shop) svcks! I kept getting thrown into Dishonored 2's page.)).

Still not sold on Fallout 4, so any news on that front passes me by.

Not to be totally negative, their "Open Tamriel" for the end of summer (?) may get me seriously looking into TES:O.

I hope their announcements got folks excited, but for me, not so much.

I literally fell asleep watching it.

It's especially going to be awesome for new players/characters.

I'm already at max level, so for my character it's just going to make grouping easier. But new players get to travel the entire massive world right from the start (instead of waiting to unlock everything.) Very cool.

I'm surprised they only talked about the one DLC though.

Longer than anticipated but at least there was less [censored] than usual. I'd say that's been the case for a long of the conferences actually. Just straight up games one after the other. Pretty good pacing for the most part. Excluding the EA conference that is.

But with that said, I think we've been getting some good conferences. A small handful of games have caught my interest, We Happy Few, Recore, For Honor, and Dishonored 2 as already mentioned. but I've enjoyed watching regardless.

I don't know where you heard it was going to be $10. From what I've gathered it's going to be $20. Not the same price as Far Harbor, but similar to that of Skyrim's larger DLC. Being the final DLC after all, I'd like to think they want it to deliver. The way I see it, it's basically the same deal we've gotten with TES games with two large DLC, which is enough to satisfy me. I'd take two large $20 DLC with plenty of content over five fairly short lived $10 ones. Even more so considering the last time Bethesda attempted that DLC model it was with Fallout 3, where most of it its DLC turned out mediocre to just utterly poor. So I personally don't buy the "we're getting less new locations than previous games" complaint. Quality over quantity.

But that's in regards to Nuka World. In terms of the workshop type DLC, I understand the disappointment behind it if it turns out to offer as little as the first Wasteland Workshop.

I dunno, the whole "not restricted by faction" part just feels like its going against what was one of the games core concepts..

sort of the same reason WoW subscribers started dropping so much, because they were changing the game from what they originally envisioned just to make it "easier to new players"..

For Honour really got me interested this year, it looked good last year but I thought it was just going to be some multiplayer only moba type game.

Also I love the guy who presents it, I wish everyone presenting at E3 was like him.

Is this the new God of War??

It actually looks not too bad.

TES games have always been about freedom, not restrictions. ESO is embracing that more and more lately.

Most of the game is PvE, so who cares which alliance someone is in? It was always a silly restriction to place on players and characters.

Was One Tamriel given a release date?

When it releases I feel like I'm going to pick up ESO

Sony finally announced the only game they make that I will buy a PS4 for.

God of Skyrim!

Seriously, I'll wait till the NEO console and game are cheap or if they do a must have bundle.

It's new in the sense it's the engine fallout 4 is being run on and while it's a heavily modified version of Skyrim Engine, that engine wasn't not all Gamebryo, gamebryo was only a small part in the original skyrim and even less so in fallout 4. It's only in the engine so the mod support can be as easy as their games always allowed. THAT's why gamebryo will likely never go away because the modding is the biggest thing people like about their games. So it's loosely a new engine but we all know the PC version is much better usually than consoles.

Don't get me wrong I LIKED the additions in the wasteland workshop but there's NO reason for there to be two more wasteland workshops in being done. There should have been 1(even then it's questionable) Wasteland workshop, 1 more Automatron like DLC and Another $24 DLC.

As far as your comment about dlc: Fallout New Vegas for all it's negatives for the base game had 4 areas that were fully explorable with new areas. Lonesome Road, Old World Blues and Honest Hearts had it's own map, 15+ locations and good story as well that tied well into the main characters like NCR and Caesar Legions.

Fallout 3 DLC's were good but not that great. New Vegas had solid DLC's because the main story was crap. And here with fallout 4: we're now being concerned that the $49 season pass is now a complete waste because 2 WW and Nuka-World where there's no indication it's a $20+ expansion is messed up. People who had the PC version when Far Harbor update happened saw those two dlc's and figured out Nuka is not going to be a big dlc, hence why I'm saying it's complete bull and bethesda screwed up. There shouldn't be 2 wasteland workshop dlc's. We want storyline dlc's after the success of far harbor why the hell would they make 1 or 2 more of those? I'd rather have 3 $10 expansions ala new vegas style than what we're getting. Luckily I only paid $30 for the SP but i'm not going to pretend that those new ones are a good deal.

You're serious? Resident Evil 7 announced? Damn, I was hoping they wouldn't make one until RE2, 3 and possibly CVX was remade. :(

Yeh. At first I thought an Indie picked up the assets from the P.T. from a while back, and started to do their own thing.

Im not an RE fan, but that looked pretty good.

So ummmm.....anyone see Take Two anywhere?

The Sony conference was a bit dull compared to the last year, but I did like The Last Guardian (and a release date!), Detroit and Spiderman.

With The Last Guardian coming in late October it seems like I really will buy a PS4 this year :P
