2377, Health Hope for Vault 101 and a New game?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 4:04 am

I'm really new to the Fallout Forum but, I am literally a FalIout freak. I looked at the timeline for the Fallout wiki. And i seen that Vault 101's sensors picked up that the world will be habitable by that date. Well since that should be, shouldn't there be a game where Vault dwellers from an vault that has not been opened since 2077 come outside for the first time since then? I was just thinking it would be cool, to go out into the world and look outside for the first time in a Vault dwellers eyes. Like NCR running things, or maybe even they are greeted by BoS or maybe they just have to survive. I just think that would be a good game. And i was wondering, is there going to be more fallout games other than the supposedly Fallout: San Francisco?

If you could answer my question that would be great, thanks

The game you are describing is called "Fallout" (the first one).

It seems one of my ideas has been liked by at least one person... Florida Keys :)

The world was inhabitable only a few years after the great war.. less even... Fallout: San Fransisco= Fallout 2, for someone claiming to be a fallout freak you know very little....

Fallout 1 has a lot of that. Also 2 has an intro showing a vault opening, and the game itself houses Vault City.

Bad graphics make a game unplayable? you must hate Fallout 3 and New Vegas then.

You may want to reconsider when you use 'literally'.
What you just said made me think of someone from a carneval freakshow who's been mutated by nuclear fallout.

Anyway, if there is a vault in the game that just recently opened (Say the game is set in 2291 and the vault opened in 2290) then I'd be fine with it.
But I do not want to be a vault dweller again, been there, done that, twice.

Well even though i haven't been playing this game for long, and i haven't adventured the first two fallout's I love fallout and and i hope it stays that way. But i just think if we were to get out of a Vault with the world supposedly "Habitable" again. Even though that may seem bland, what if the vault we are to speaking of had a G.E.C.K and used it to rebuild civilization. Wouldn't you want to see it from a FPS eye than seeing it in Fallout 2 style which is 3rd person. Seeing the lush green grass and tree from a different angle? And to see what is to be out there. I just thought it would be cool.

No not really, FPS games are so over done it's painful, and now it seems every game from yesteryear MUST be an FPS because reasons. Fallout is an Isometric Turn Based RPG and should have stayed that way.

No, I do not, I've seen what becomes of it when it's turned into a mainstream game, I want it to go back to what it was, isometric and turn-based with a real-time option ala Tactics.

That really does sound like Fallout 1. You could check Youtube for an example of FO1 gameplay. Afterward, it's easy to get the games cheap from http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/fallout; they are well worth it (to a lot of people), and it shows you the events before Fallout 3, on the West coast.

Agreed.

Not really, no. When I play the game, it's about my character in what's left of their world... not about an up close and personal [first person] trek through what remains of it.

I found it the other way around... When you look at the distant view it's what you'd see at that distance. When you look at the close up view, you find that it would appear that the original Fallout faces http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj125/Gizmojunk/compare-2.jpg, and in some cases even used http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj125/Gizmojunk/Heads-2.jpg.

The graphics are dated not bad. A game from 1997 was never going to look like crysis.

the graphics for Fallout are actually very unique detailed for it's time.

I think Fallout 1 2 and tactics look way better then Fallout 3 and New Vegas, they had a great art style to them that isn't dated, 3 and NV went with the realistic route which dated it almost immediately.

What I'm trying to say is cartoony games age better.
