About 1 and a half year ago I stopped playing Skyrim, mainly because I was so tired of dealing with all the bugs and glitches that had me re-playing things over and over again and in the process wasting a good 20 hours. When I stopped playing I had just bought Dragonborn but had lost interest in the game shortly after. Now, 1 and a half year later, I dust off my copy of Skyrim, start playing a bit again and start getting into it again, I'm enjoying the game again and have fun playing it. So I decided to do the Dragonborn DLC. All is well, everything runs smoothly, then I got to Miraak. I, like probably 95% of players, experience the glitch where he becomes ethereal in the pool of mud and just stands there because he doesn't absorb the dragon soul, I do.

I go online to find a solution for this rather annoying glitch, and I find that there is an insane amount of people having this problem. Then I realize that it's been 1.5 years since Dragonborn was released, and this incredibly game-breaking glitch is still not fixed? It's an outrage to be very honest, it's insane that this is still not fixed! I have tried EVERYTHING to defeat Miraak, I have tried EVERY single solution that helped and worked for others, I have done the hiding method, defeating him on master and legendary setting, attacking him with a very weak weapon, letting him kill the dragon I sit on, killing the dragons first, standing behind him, not killing the dragons, jumping off the cliff to avoid absorbing the soul, NOTHING works. I tried literally every possible method, I also tried re-installing Dragonborn, re-installing the title update, reloading earlier safe files, nothing works.

Now, this means I cannot EVER complete this quest, nor get the achievements related to it. And as if that wasn't enough, when I after 5 hours of trying finally gave up, I tried going back and I couldn't. There is no way of going back to the beginning, there is some door that is closed that will not open, I've spend 40 minutes in the rooms looking for how to open it or if there are alternate ways of getting out and there are none. I only have 3 auto safe files, needles to say they're all within the Apocrypha, and my 1 safe file I do have (I only keep one, I know it isn't smart in retrospect but this shouldn't even have to be a thing for me to think about) is within the Apocrypha as well.

I want an answer on how to fix this, I want to continue playing this game but this is literally so incredibly annoying, the fact that Bethesda patched the Oghma Infinum glitch and adding the "legendary" thing while NOT fixing the glitch that prevents tons of people from finishing the last quest of the DLC they PAID for, this shows me they just don't care. Was this DLC even tested before throwing it out there? By proffesionals that is? Either way, I'm once again extremely disappointed in Bethesda and if there is no way of fixing this then I don't think I even need to mention I will avoid Bethesda titles like the plague in the future.

I just move on to other quests. You can go back before starting that quest and find another. I was able to complete them with a lot of research on Google. Bugs in games go back to the beginning. Back in the 1980s, it was driver and video card issues. Patch 1.9 is actual good for a game. Most stop at 1.3. If you quit playing for 1.5 years, go to Gamestop and get another game. I am at level 93. My goal is level 100. I have 15 quests that are broken including Stormcloaks. I just find other quests to do and move on. Legendary is nice. I have done smithing 11x. My follower and I have Daedric Armor and weapons double enchanted. Still a lot of fun in Skyrim and many more quests to do.
