300 Skillpoints achievable -confirmed

Post » Sun Mar 09, 2014 8:18 am

I don't know if anybody allready made a thread about this and if you all know the exact amount but i asked support and they said there are at current pts-server and developement progress a total of 300 Skillpoints to be achieved.

The support answer is in german but i'll post it anyway^^.

it's been said multiple times in interviews that eventually you can learn everything...

That was said back before the change to the crafting system. Since then they have said you cannot learn everything.

At which point you'll have so many active skill options, it becomes a matter of deciding which loadout you want for a given situation - and how well you play. This seems right to me.

heres the translation

"Thank you for your request.

Currently, there are in the game to be achieved to 300 skill points. Please note however, that this is information from the current version of the game and this can change at any time.

I can not verify that it will give the same number of skill points in the final game thus so.

Best regards"

You'll never have enough to learn everything, BUT i think we'll have enough points to be good at what we want to be able to do. And honestly to me that will be enough.

300 is a perfect number! Thanks for the confirmation!

Also, if people disagree, get ready for your Sparta kick.

Well, you can learn everything you need and then more.

You can master all the 6(?) crafts, all the 3 class abilities, and then all the other abilities you chose (so 2 weapons, 1-2 guilds, 1 Alliance wars, Emperor, Soul) it's what, average of 15 points per tree? so that's 20 full trees?

This kinda of kills the need for dedicated crafters or synergy within some group for crafting. You can be master crafter in everything and not sacrifice anything from combat be it PvP or PvE... I do not like it personally.

It's going to take a long time to get all those skill points. It's also going to take a long to to do all the research, find all the rare styles, etc. Being able to and doing are two very different things.

WAY to much is more like it. This wont matter at all at launch but way down the road its going to mean a lot of homogenized min/maxers all playing to templates that cross traditional class borders. Essentially a bunch of do it all in 1 characters. :(

Dude this is an MMORPG, there will be a walk-through for this at launch more than likely.

I wonder if there will be something that we can spend extra skill points in.

I don't think that it matters. It will take a long time anyway. You will still have to research traits, even if you use a walk-through and know exactly what to do.

considering research is completely time based, a walkthrough won't help, considering that the style are rare drops, a walkthrough won't help. Considering that many skillpoints are behind walls that take time (see the crazy slow levelling of verteran ranks), a walkthrough will only help so much.

Does anyone know what the max skill points are? In other words, If you spent a point in every available slot, how many would you use? I have read (don't remember where) that it would be 470 points. Does anyone have an accurate number?

Either that number needs to be much lower, or the number of available skills needs to be much higher. I don't relish the thought of walking around with dozens of other people having all the same skills toward the end game.

i think 300 sounds like it'll be super-plenty!

-it should be quite enough for anyone, since all skills are just one point each (if i have that right)

The point is, in the end, everyone will have nearly all the same skills. The choices you make on the way, and the time it takes you to get there are both largely irrelevant when it all amounts to the same thing in the end.
