360/PS3 Exclusive DLC

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 8:55 pm

i'd go for 360. it's just much better in general IMO.
better community, MUCH better controller, and it's just freaking much better. seriously, you pay a little per month but it's way better than ps3's online stuffs.

Dude...what thread are you replying to? 'Cause it sure don't look like you're talking about anything to do with this one.

Bethesda are an american company,so are microsoft.....they are bound to scratch each others backs.

I have a funny, but crude reference from the movie Super bad.

Thanks for the replies guys, at least the on topic ones. Your logic makes sense in that we wont know until after release and the ps3 will prolly get the dlc after the 360. I may just have to wait for the ps3 version coz if thats how they goin play it il wait for the dlc just not to give M$ the dolla they crave

I would think after release. I'm trying to think if the Dragon Age dlc was announced after or before release. But, i can't remember. I think it was around the release date. I would still prefer a full expansion to dlc's though.

Before. In the first, they offered it to every new copy and released a trailer before release. For the second,it was for those that pre-ordered before January and released a trailer before release.

Don't care about exclusive DLC personally. I'm on 360 so I generally get it. Does tickle me that it vexes PS3 owners. You win some you lose some. Don't blame Bethesda just because you chose the losing (unride-able) horse. They're just doing the smart thing

I can only hope they fired or promoted the person who signed that contract with M$ about exclusive DLC's.

I don't even understand what they hope to achieve. I'm not going to rush out and buy an Xbox because I'll have to wait a few months for the DLC on PS3.

Indeed. It's just a bunch of BS. Yeah lets lower the quality of the other versions to accommodate Xbox in order to make them all look the same, but lets just release the DLC especially for Xbox first.

I'm slightly confused by this. Did you agree with the decision or disagree? Your post implies both

Disagree. Promotions can be used to get a [censored] person out of a position without having to fire them.

They hope to make people buy multi-platform games on 360. Considering people DO generally buy multi-plat on 360 I'm not surprised they've kept up the practice. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Microsofts practice of funding DLC hasn't led the there being more DLC out there than there would have been.

Once Sony gets a competent business model or competent development software/hardware infrastructure they can dictate the 'quality' of the games.

It is.

Well, it's part of the Zenimax corporation. ZeniMax Media Inc.

So it's not, it serves the cruel overlords of Zenimax! Only joking Zenimax are awesome but they probably gave the go-ahead for all these exclusivity deals :(

Oh but some people will :)

And another thing, I have both consoles and Microsoft want me playing theirs more than my PS3.

There are marketing strategies that say even a 24 hour exclusive can make a product 4 fold more profitable for a company.

It is owned by them. Bethesda itself might not be a corporation

Not trying to get off topic though. Just clarifying

There are no exclusive DLCs. The problem with PS3 DLCs is a problem with Sony, not that the DLC itself is exclusive.
