3rd & 1st Person Views / Free Running

Post » Thu Jan 13, 2011 1:39 pm

Let's not make Elder Scrolls into every other game ever. Let's let Elder Scrolls be Elder Scrolls and be unique. I don't want to play a combination of a bunch of other popular games, I want to play an Elder Scrolls game.

I am posting other games so people would know what im talking about. I want TES 5 to be like all the others, all I am saying it would be cool if you could free run in such an big open game. It would allow it to be alot of fun running up walls to get a better shot on a civilian for the dark brotherhood.
ALL I want in this game is free running. nothing else

1. Yes.

2. No. I think the new 3rd person view will be just fine.

3. Yes.

I think if done right (skill wise) it would be an excellent ability for the thieves/agilie type of characters and it could also work some for vampires/werewolves to a degree.

Regular climbing would be nice to see. Don't turn this into a high fantasy where orcs with full armor and equipment are acting like a 3 ring circus on the environments however.

Mount and Blade: Warpath had an amazing feel to it as well. I always had hoped Oblivion would have been like that.

gamesas makes sure that people who like first or third person are pleased, also they recognize that some even like switching between them. I don't think they'll change that (it would be a serious lapse in judgement)

as far as free running. the world design simply doesn't justify putting extra time and money to add parqour (sp) to the game play. all you are going to find on the roofs of buildings is roof, why complicate the engine further.

for all the people talking about how they didn't mean they wanted skyrim to be a mix of other games, one of the questions on here was about free-running.....come on, seriously? FREE RUNNING?
