Its unrealistci, been done a thousand times, its not terrible, buts it reeks of a lack of ideas and originality.

The Couch Gag in Simpsons is also unrealistic, has been done a thousand times and lacks ideas and originality. But it weren't the Simpsons without it. Same here :P

Thinking results in criticism. Ignorance is bliss. I'd rather not be ignorant. Thus I complain. :P

True that. :P

people seem surprised at the flow of updates, but you know its just gonna be crumbs, they're not gonna give us anything really good until E3 or something.

That′s true, but I would be satisfied with a map description of some sort, although it might be too soon

They are building hype, the later updates will contain details on various new things about the game such as the Radiant Story. Also, I don't think we will have to wait until E3 for gameplay videos, Bethesda is going to be at PAX, it's very likely that they will demo the game there.

The only thing I was a little bit dissapointed with was the cover reveal of the GI magazine.

The rest I liked.

Criticism is nice to a point. But the problem with alot of people is that if a feature didn't come out just as they had envisioned, which can be pretty amazing at least in my imagination, then they feel cheated for some reason even if the feature itself was a good feature. It would make the world better where if everyone didn't harp on every little thing just to have something to be angry about and instead just say it was nice but it could've been better with X change and then that change can make it into the game and fix the minor flaws in the game and make it better. But just saying "Such and such svcked!!!" doesn't help to improve such and such.

Suggestions on improvement are helpful and make for a better game but complaining just so you have something to complain about doesn't help anyone.

You had to say that didn't you? Now my life is going to be consumed with anticipation knowing that the great Gstaff is implying that Bethesda has even more incredible things to show us than what they already have.

I think that being a prisoner is the best way to avoid backstory or mystery about the background of your character while presenting them into Skyrim as a newcomer. Imagine if you washed up on the shore? I would wonder how the character got there forever. Imagine if they had grown up in one of the towns? That would take so much work to make sense when you spend time there. If you were a messenger or something from another province you'd want to resolve that thread. Basically, there needs to be an explanation for why your character knows nobody and has accomplished nothing, without amnesia which would be too mysterious, while leaving an opening for fate to jump in and make your character a hero. Being a prisoner is the best solution, and that's why it is the perfect beginning for the type of roleplaying in Elder Scrolls games.

Personally I think the king of Skyrim is dead so they can improve that element from last time by allowing you to become the king. He's not the emperor, I guess not yet, so it shouldn't affect the overall mythology too much. For all we know, as dragonborn, you are destined to become the new emperor.

I'm not a fan of that idea, I don't want people cheering "omg its teh emporer!" and have cults try to attack me and have to have blades watch over me 24/7.

I think it's a little sad that you don't have more say in your character's background. I would start out with a much closer relationship and better role playing background if I could choose a point of origin on the map and be equipped with some basic gear of my own choice (which you'll find in a matter of minutes anyway).

That's kind of like Dragon age origins ;). I would rather not know about my characters background for the fact that I can create my own.

What time is it in America? So I can get a rough idea of when the update will reach England.

Actually it's like pretty much any RPG I've ever played. Character creation is essential to me in building a personality for a character, including choice of weapons, armor and other gear. I often grow attached to start gear, and won't part with it until something exceptional comes along, not just a bigger sword with better stats. I also often name my character's weapons and make up a story for how he came to own those items, like a family heirloom sword, given to him by his former trainer, won in fight or something like that. And then maybe enchant them so they'll stay usable even when you face tougher opponents as you gain levels etc.

Since this is a computer game, however, I understand the need for us to start at some predetermined location with predetermined gear since we have a main story line to follow.
