My explanation wasn't thin at all. I clearly explained the reason for imprisonment and even gave a similar use of such a plot beginning. To allow you to truly be free to make your own character, it can't be restrained by a past.

But by starting in a prison, you're being restrained by a past. You were put in prison for one reason or another, whether or not you want to RP that.

Starting out as a free person requires you to have a backstory which can be very limiting in RP.

That doesn't even make sense. Half the reason people don't want to start out as a prisoner is because they do want to create their own backstory, and not have to worry about fitting imprisonment in to said story. And saying that being able to craft every part of your character's story is "limiting" in any way, shape or form is ludicrous.

How is it any different from wherever you start? Wouldn't starting in a village or forest require explanation as to how you get there in the first place?

What time is it now in USA

GI is located in Mineapolis, Minnesota which is at CST time. While it is 21:25 in Europa it is ~14:25 in Mineapolis.

Does anyone know at which time the "Secrets of the Wall" update was posted? If I check the time at which the thread about it was posted on the board it was 03:00, meaning 20:00 in Mineapolis which seems a bit late to me...

We don't know for sure if we're starting out in prison or not. We do know that we're going to be a prisoner, but not necessarily in an Oblivion type prison. Maybe it's a POW camp?

Possibly. Maybe we could chose which side of the war we want to be on and be put in the POW camp on the opposite side.

Sooo are they coming out with a new update soon? That WALL one was kinda...boring n I love Lore and Story in my games but rather learn about that stuff more when it gets closer to release or when I am playing the game O__O some of the stuff we already knew....(where are my werewolves and vampires!!!)

Yes, but you can think up a myriad of explanations for those scenarios. The same cannot be said for starting out as a prisoner; you're either put in prison for actually committing a crime, put in prison for being falsely accused of committing a crime, or you're a prisoner of war.

Prisoner does not necessarily mean criminal. As has been said, there's PoW, there's people framed, wrongly accused, etc. Even if you determine your character is a criminal, there's atoner archetypes, etc. So don't think you're by definition limited to a single backstory based on being a prisoner.

Oh right, so really you could be in there for just a day for stealing bread. Or a year in a life sentence after a murder. Or nothing legitimate. Or cuckolding a judge. I, personally, made a pass at the Empress.

Same here. I just studied for 1 hour from 9 till well almost 10.

At 10 I need to go to bed because I have school tomorrow with test.
