3rd Hub Update

Post » Wed Dec 29, 2010 1:01 am

What time is it for you now? It's 9:43 for me. I want to know if it's worth waiting for. I could probably stay up til about 4:00 AM, maybe 5, before I will be unable to take it.

I assume It's 13:46 over there since I had to wait until 2AM yesterday.

Later this month, we'll be digging in to reveal more about the in-game mechanics, combat, and technical features that make Skyrim shine. But today we dedicate the following feature to the role-playing and story lovers. Dig in and explore Alduin's Wall by clicking on the image below.

Maybe they mean with ''later this month'' this friday?

I really hope so! I'm hungry for more news! :liplick:

So according to Alduin's Wall, the Blade's have been protecting the line of the dragonborn so that they can combat the return of Alduin? I wonder if all Blade's know this, or if they think their mission was only to protect the Emperor because he was the ruler of Tamriel. This puts a whole new spin on things.

I'd imagine someone like Jauffre or Cosades would know, but Baurus wouldn't, especially since they seem to have eventually merged with an Akaviri "knightly order" for lack of a better term during the First Era into the Blades we know.

Personally I really want to see something actually related to gameplay instead of all the lore stuff. I like the lore stuff but the boards extrapolated all the stuff about the wall within a week after the magazine was out. Frankly the juicy bits are the engine info and gameplay mechanics, I can grab lore info whenever I want.

There's supposed to be one today - if yesterday was anything to go by, expect something in about 11hrs from now.

Considering we've started in a Prison in all the ES Series Games, I am quite sure that is not a joke... ^^

WRONG! In Arena you start in a dungeon, in Daggerfall you start in a boat (not a prison boat), in Battlespire you start in Battlespire (no! Not as prisoner, in Redguard you start in a ship (again, not a prison ship), in Morrowind you start in prison boat and finali the Oblivion is the second game in wich you start in prison (first being Arena but there you were locked because you knew about Jagarn Tharn's plans and in Oblivion you are a criminal).

EDIT -- It only mentions 'prisoner' not jail or prison... So it might be like Morrowind...

the arena starting dungeon is a prison
also, in daggerfall you start in the privateer's hold, as a prisoner :)

I don't see why people need to get on their high-horse like this. YES, we know, not every elder scrolls game you are a prisoner.

Don't dance around it though. You do start in a prison in arena and you're locked in. Might as well be a prisoner. You start either in a prison or as a prisoner in (as of now) four fifths of numbered TES games. Why does it wound you so that this has become a tradition of sorts?

@above
You're not a prisoner in privateer's hold, it's just a dungeon you made your way into after a shipwreck. No one is actually holding you there, though the name of the place might suggest it's a prison anyway.

Prisoner doesn't just mean "accused of a crime and thrown in a prison".

No, but it means you've been thrown in a prison for some reason. You can't just wander in and call yourself a prisoner.

Okay, first off, I never stated that you start as a prisoner - I said that you start in a prison.
You do that in all the ES Series Games: Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion. (Prison isn't just the ordinary dungeon you see in Oblivion - it is also prison boats, locked dungeons, among other things...)

Second, I said The Elder Scrolls Series, meaning Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion.
Redguard is not part of the Elder Scrolls Series, it is part of The Elder Scrolls Adventures Series, big difference. (i.e Redguard doesn't have to follow the lore of any previous games, as it can be set in any time they want.)

Well I really don't think that Battlespire and Redguard count as the series seeing as they were spinoffs but yeah, your correct, battlespire your a Battlemage in training. Arena you start in the same place as you do in Oblivion and Daggerfall is the only "true" TES game that you didn't start as a prisoner. Instead you started out as an emissary from the Emperor to the City of Daggerfall.
