Its unrealistci, been done a thousand times, its not terrible, buts it reeks of a lack of ideas and originality.
*Shrug* It's practical, for one thing : starting that way, in a secluded area gives you the "blank past" state needed to build yourself a character and a story. As for lack of ideas, I don't think it's the case in this instance : they could start otherwise if they wanted. It's pretty much like what they did with the Jeremy Soule Theme since Morrowind : you can pick a similarity, a continuity, but it's different all the same.
I kinda like it. Gives a sense of continuity.
