Excellent work. Really brings out the quality of 3rd person view. One question... Does it matter that the crosshair and melee weapons strikes dont match up when in combat? I use a katana and the blade tip doesnt even touch the enemy when the crosshairs dead centre. Any advice on this one? Cheers
I'm trying to figure out something similar. My issue is that with the following settings:
setini "fOverShoulderCombatAddY:camera" 0
setini "fOverShoulderCombatPosX:camera" 50
setini "fOverShoulderCombatPosZ:camera" -10
setini "fOverShoulderPosX:camera" 50
setini "fOverShoulderPosZ:camera" -10
Melee strikes and shield bashes appear to hit in a much larger cone than they otherwise would. I just can't seem to figure out why. I've tried out nearly every ini setting I could think of but nothing. Maybe someone with more familiarity with Fallout 3/New Vegas could be of help as Skyrim and Fallout 3/New Vegas seem to share some ini settings.
Let me try to paint a picture. While using the normal third person camera, shield bashes and weapon strikes will land in a ~30 degree cone in front of your character. With the settings I posted, that cone seems to increase rather drastically to the left. ~90+ degrees.
For example, spawn a Hagraven. Use the settings I posted and go directly up to a Hagraven. Proceed to turn 90 degrees to your left. You should still be able to shield bash and strike the Hagraven while hitting the air. Normally you would not be able to do this.
Yes, I know that you can hit enemies while hitting the air normally, but this is different. In normal scenarios this occurrence happens due to the hitboxes and weapon ranges being longer than what it visually displayed. o.o ... Just making a distinction before it is called into question. : )
Anyhow, all help is appreciated. It would be nice to play with these Over The Shoulder Camera settings without feeling like I am cheating. I say this because it's nearly impossible to miss shield bashes or weapon strikes with an extra ~90+ degree margin of error.
