3rd Person Crosshair Normal?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 9:26 am

Is it normal for there to be a crosshair even in 3rd Person view, like http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/Computer%20Games/F03Crosshair.jpg. Maybe I am just having a senior moment, but I do not remember seeing one before. I am not using any mods that do anything to the crosshair, and even tried playing the game with no mods active, and still get it. Am I just nuts and this is normal?

Yes, it's normal. I play, I'd say about 80 percent of the time in 3rd person view, including combat.

Okay, thanks. I must be losing my marbles. If anyone has seen about 3 lbs of loose grey matter, please send it my way...

Its a sort of glitch. I can't remember exactly how it happens but its undo-able in a matter of seconds.

I think you get rid of it by going into first person view, viewing the pip-boy, or pressing start.

It's definitely normal, though debatable how much use it is. I tried playing this way just recently and found that aiming to shoot is quite difficult. Using the crosshair is useless, I missed every shot. Instead I had to aim where the gun was pointing, which in third person is near impossible.

I found http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9037 very handy mod that automatically toggles the crosshair on and off when going from 1st to 3rd person view, as well as when you are in 1st person and you holster your weapon. Very nice.
