3rd person finishers.... seriously.....

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 12:12 pm

I like finishing moves, they actually make this game worth playing. Seriously I thought about returning Skyrim just to get another copy of MW3 until I saw the finishing moves. At least I'd have two copies then of the game of the century.

I also don't like the 3rd-person finishers. Its unnecessarily immersion-breaking and it also just doesn't work well: about half the time the finisher camera view doesn't frame the action properly so it just looks like a poorly done "gee whiz" afterthought.

Played at least 6 hours and I'm still not sick of them.

Played for 24 hours and have only seen 2.

I've played 13 hours now, and I like the finishers. It makes me smile every time my Argonian impales a bandit with one strike with a grin on his face. :D

I don't like them either, as predicted.
I'll wait for a mod.

This one of the things I dislike the most with Skyrim :(

I really enjoy them tbh, not too much with the wolves, but the bandits/darugrs(deffo spelling lol) etc.

Well, untill I was in a cave SE of Falkreath (wont say what it is in case people dont wanna know names) and I sneak attack killed one ghost coming out of the wall backwards (Kinda funny) whilst on full health, then his mate who I hadnt seen, put his war-axe through my head in 3rd person.
I was like WTF just happened?????

I got my revenge though!!! :flamethrower: :celebration: :flamethrower: Untill I got to the boss of the cave and ran way after 10 goes at failing to beat him. Not fun :sadvaultboy:

So far I'm not a big fan of them.
A bandit ran at me, I turned, slashed once and a "finisher" began. I thought finishers were supposed to happen only when enemy low health?
First person finishers are sort of cool, but I can see me growing old of them.

What I really hate is the bad execution (lol) of the finishing moves.
Sometimes my sword is right next to his belly when I stab them. Come on, its a singleplayer game, you should atleast be able to make them smooth.

Thye'd be better if people actually got their heads cut off and stuff.

I've not seen this happen...so I take it you cant cut their heads off? I could be wrong...

There's a decapitation at the beginning of the game, and there's a perk you can take that allow you to decapitate with power attacks.

3 hours into Skyrim and Im already sick to death of 3rd person finishers. Just as I expected tbh. Ive seen a slow mo death of atleast 20 wolves now and its just an annoying feature that got old very fast. PLEASE PATCH IN A TOGGLE OPTION BETHESDA!!! They happen far too often.. .basically any time you power attack the last enemy in a group. Why do game devs only seem to cater to the mortal kombat tards' nowadays? :( Grrrrr

Agreed totally. What the hell were they thinking of not including an toggle for them. Hated them in DX hating them here. Its so non RPG way to doing things. You dont take away players control of character and be a good RPG. Perhaps hack and slash arcade games can go away with it but not these type of games. I have bad feeling of next TES being arcade hack and slash with this course.

No stats to increase=Check
Remove way to actually build your character with stats etc=Check
Include OOC finishers=Check
Horrible UI and inventory=Check

Oh joy, on the way to mindless hack and slash console action.

Finishers are there so console boiyz can get a raging boner everytime they kill something. They svck in TW2 as well.

What the [censored] is with this hating on Consoles?? Seriously features like this have NOTHING to do with the platform.… seriously people get a bloody life and stop trying to act all cool because you play on PC. NO ONE [censored] CARES!

I enjoy them. They don't really happen often enough to be intrusive, they never seem to happen in the middle of combat, and they're quick enough to put you right back into the action, and it's infinitely better than Oblivion, where most enemies just collapse into a ragdoll if you smack them enough. That said though, a New Vegas-style toggle option may have been nice.

You can. The only thing you need is a minimum of 50 2 handed skill and unlock the prerequisite perk for decapitating people. Then when you get a critical hit finished, you blow his read right off. Even with warhammers!
