3rd Person Mode for Console?

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 7:04 pm

Brink is an awesome game and really captures the parkour movement style well but there's only one gripe i have. No 3rd person option. Why? 3rd person option imo would honestly make this game like 5x better because you would be able to actually see all the parkour movements and see your character and his style you worked so hard to customize. IMO a 3rd person option has to be available in a patch or something it just has to. You can even to like a 3rd person team tactical type game mode for multiplayer, where it randomly selects game modes to play in 3rd person. Which brings me to my last gripe, there should be some more game modes, the modes now can get repetitive i feel like every game its the same thing capture this objective. I wouldnt mind a little free for all or TDM, maybe even, some SnD type mode, where ur dead and u stay dead till the end of the round. AND OFC 3rd person option. There just gotta be something to switch up the gameplay a bit and addin a bit of variety. Other than that the game is awesome. What do you guys think leave your comments below.

I voted yes to both altho i dont think brink is a game for tdm or ffa but more objective gametypes would be welcome. and I have always thought that this game would benifit from a 3rd person mode basically for the reasons you've stated . u customize your character and also have all these cool moves and you cant see it, i wouldnt want to play in 3ps only but it would be cool to have the option. btw be prepared for the fps purists to flame the idea lol

Nah, i dont think there should be a 3rd person mode, it would be cool but it dosent look right, if you die and go into spectator mode you can see what it would be like D:

A third-person game like Brink could work.

But I don't think making Brink third-person is a good idea, especially not making it optional to players - third-person view plays very differently from first-person - it's slower-paced by nature, because you can see around corners without being exposed to enemy fire, which first-person doesn't allow. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with third-person games, I enjoy them, but Brink isn't one, and shouldn't be one.

Yes but it would be different mode it wouldnt be FPS and 3rd person shooters in same game. I mean look at this video 3rd person almost definitely fits into this game.

1. That guy's really bad at the game.
2. Everyone in the other team is even worse for letting him get away with it.
3. He plays it like a third-person shooter and only gets away with it BECAUSE the other team are being complete noobs.

If the other team were actually taking advantage of the SMART system's manual controls, and moving around well, that guy would be screwed. He NEEDS to learn to burst-fire, he NEEDS to learn to move faster, he wasn't running ANYWHERE, he svckS AT BRINK. But he's probably pretty good at third-person games.

If you get someone who's good at Transformers: War For Cybertron, and stick them in Brink in third-person, they'll wipe the floor with every player I saw in that video.
