Yeah, they are great... if you're a Bosmer. Totally natural.

same, i dont know what i was supposed to look for. I see my wife as a female walk/run around and everything look fine. I am a male character and i run around often in third (i fight in first) and nothing seem out of the ordinary.
I never really noticed anything wrong with the running or walking animations on any of my characters, personally. They looked fine to me.
In Skyrim I didn't like fighting in 3rd person but I find myself fighting in it when playing ESO. It's great we have a choice, first person really pulls you into the immersion of the game.
Are you serious ?
Look at running animation (holsted weapon and without sprinting).
Then tell it doesn't look like a complete robot.
It IS subjective, as are all the opinions on the game from everyone who posts here. At the end of the day, its just a game. I'm not going to lose sleep over some animations when I have a dozen real life issues going on (as I imagaine we do all). I just wanted to share my own opinion on the subject and get some feedback.
It's a game we're talking about. If I can't engage in some light-hearted banter about some things I thought were a bit crappy here, where else am I going to talk about it? The guy at the bus stop?
There are far more important things to fix than animations, namely group phasing and progression, but there are better spoken advocates of that issue than I.
The animation quality when you first start the game is just ugly. However I blame some of this on the art assets of the started clothing and how awkward it looks.
In playing with the sliders, body types, different races and armor I've found that the animations vary. What I mean by this is that once I had my Orc in higher-end gear his running and sprinting looked more natural then it did in early levels or with cloth armor.
I also saw toons where the arms where very large but the legs were scrawny, making every step they took comical. So a part of it is proportions and what armor/clothing you have on your character model.
STILL, some of the animations are goofy and look rather stiff/robotic or unwieldy. Its something that I hope they can correct in time but certainly isnt game breaking for me.
Maybe that's the problem. Thanks man, I think you're right.
Didn't spend much time at all creating my character on Friday night. After all the probs I had with DL the client, just getting into game was top priority.
I must have created the Wrong Nord!

I said you're Not wrong. You sound like you're getting defensive. Some people like it, some don't and some are indifferent. I don't know what to tell you. Were you expecting complete agreement with your opinion?
I only expect to wake up in the morning, after than that everything is a glorious bonus.
Thank you for sharing in the conversation and I do appreciate your feedback. I wasn't being defensive, I was just reiterating the point that, no matter the personal gripes, its just a computer game... no reason for anyone to get real angsty or ... DEFENSIVE!
I hope we all enjoy the foook out of TESO for many a long time to come.
Crap animations withstanding
If you think running/walking is bad, did you look at the swimming animation? Plus what's up with the camera angles for 3rd person? They need to start applying the "polish" to this game in a hurry!
Combat animations looks worse, believe me. I understand there are things more important to polish but I hope combat and running animations will be fixed in future.
