400 hours? Not me what about you?

Post » Fri Mar 11, 2016 7:12 am

900 hours so far on 3 toons. I expect to get at least 3k hours out of this game. A drop in the bucket next to the 6000 hours i had in Diablo 3 before it started making me ill to even think of it. 4000 hours Bad Company 2 and 3500 in Battlefield 4.

i'm retired. i have lots of time.

I've been playing every night since early December. I still don't understand how some people can get 400 hours.

Btw, still enjoying the game with a mix of exploring, building, and collecting at the moment.

Lol. I get it. I'm praying my opinion on this changes after a couple years of DLC and some of the talented awesomeness pour out their love in mods, the likes of what we saw in FO3 and FNV which totally made the games epic. After 300 hours I just feel unchallenged minus if I go into combat with an Assaultron Dominator wearing no Power Armor, Ouch!

793 right now, a lot of settlement construction, and modding/testing. I play a lot, but I still find time to keep my partner happy!

Fallout 4: 1,106 hours across five characters. Two characters got borked due to adding mods in their early stages which were incompatible with each other. I'll be a happy modder when GECK is released.

Fallout: New Vegas: 1,695 hours across eight characters.

Fallout 3: Unknown since I don't have all of the save files. If I were to guess it would probably be in the 3,000 plus hour range.

Skyrim: 1,071 hours across seven or so characters.

Am I happy with the content Fallout 4 has provided so far? Enthusiastically "Yes!". I keep on discovering new places and or people every time I play.

Am at 222 hours at level 50 i think and still have tons of places to discover. No way am running out of things to do. This is also only my second character since getting Fallout 4 on release day. Wonderful indeed to be so attached to my character i have no desire to start a new one.

I'm a bit disturbed that the only people who almost play as much as me are crippled or sick.

460 hours. Seven characters. Discovered probably 95% of the game in the first 100 hours and been finding small new things every 10-20 hours since (such as a random unmarked building or a small 2 minute not radiant quest appears). I did not rush at all. It's only the past 50 hours or so where I've started just running back and forth across the map actually trying to find every little hut and event possible.

This game needed so much more. Longer minuteman quest line, a longer hunter for kellogg, maybe a gunner joinable faction that you betray the minuteman to (then not be allowed in the institute due to being corrupted by the wasteland or whatever). Different endings for all the factions. There should of been named settlers that would show up with their own problems that needed solving. Raiders should of slowly banded together as you slaughtered the named ones until they have a small army (like the silver shroud quest except better).

Gonna have to learn how to mod. Need to make the vanilla game great myself (which i won't cause i'm lazy)

For some bizarre reason I try to roleplay as much as possible, and it works for me. I'm at the 300 hour mark with one character, don't use the settlement management mechanic and (technically) haven't finished the main quest purposefully.

I try to avoid using fast travel whenever I can possibly stand to do so, I move unecessarily carefully through the terrain (sneak in high grass, scout a lot before deciding on a direction & somesuch), walk in towns etc. and on top of that, my char "abandoned" the main quest and faction war after a certain point; assumed a grizzled appearance and moved out to the wilderness with his dog - accordingly, I try to avoid going cities and only deal with lone traders.

Not saying this is what they had in mind -I do agree that it is presumptuous marketing BS- but the game does give you these options. I do respect the Fallout world's rules and its plot, but I have always been just using it as a frame for my own character, making up restrictions, rules and stuff to do for myself. Plus, like someone else said, even 100+ hours is huge these days. I don't think BGS have lost it; they just get a little distracted from their strengths by all these flashy features other games appear to dictate them to try. And how could I blame them for experimenting, yet at the same time I am as genuine in my reception thereof.

You've got the quote wrong, it was never said that its 400 hours of gameplay:

Gardiner mentions his extensive time spent with the upcoming game, and praises its ability to continually surprise, saying, “I’ve played the game for probably 400 hours, and I’m still finding stuff that I haven’t seen.”

I'm over 400 hours on multiple characters, haven't done all the endings yet and on my most played character (200ish hours) I am still seeing new thngs.

Good luck with your health there.

Gaming can be a good pastime as it helps you to forget any problem you might have at the moment. Just make sure you do not combine gaming with junk food and sugar. It can seriously mess you up. Trust me.

And for those who are retired, I wish I could game as much as you guys. I have to wake up at 5am and go to work. Heavy gaming seriously cuts into those sleep patterns. Lol.

We have some intense gamers here. Fallout 4 at 1000 plus, Diablo 3 at 6000 and Bad Company at 4000.

Damn!

Fallout NV: around 800 hours, but seems rather low for some reason. I know I've played NV a lot.

Fallout 4: almost at 700 hours with 3 characters

Fallout 3: 150 hours lol

Skyrim: around 1000 hours

Oblivion: probably 2 years worth of hours :) Man, I loved to play Oblivion.

Morrowind: I sunk a ton of hours into that game as well.

Bethesda games keep me busy, since there is always so much to do and to explore! Even in the Vanilla versions. I have never used a huge list of mods for those games. Just a few select ones that truly enhance the world and/or game play (like adding a whole new faction to Oblivion or using Project Nevada for Fallout NV or adding some community fixes to Skyrim).

And of course there are other games I play, besides those. :)

Agreed. I'm on my 3rd character and I just found out yesterday that I can use the aft Dingy on the U.S.S. Constitution as an "elevator" LOL

This is reasonable - I've played around 700 hours and I occasionally find stuff I haven't seen.

That doesn't mean I haven't experienced some plot and quest lines multiple times.

People should not mistake what was claimed here...

Probably close to 300 on first attempt. Restarted for upcoming DLC and leaving factions alone as long as possible. I think the questing feels vastly shortchanged compared to other titles but honestly I prefer linear quest lines as opposed faction based missions and I think Bethesda does better with more linear storytelling. Also the Radiate system has gotten worse due to varying factors and Bethesda should do a modest purge of that aspect from a development standpoint,

All of that aside how many other developers offer so much playtime and excellently crafted open worlds with a lot of interactivity? CDProjekt made an excellent attempt but fell flat with mechanics as much as Bethesda fell flat in mission structure and excellent set pieces. I love F4 mechanically and the features are awesome and I am looking forward to the DLC.

I do understand playing video game hardcoe...

but anything over 800 hours... I think you need to watch for your health and do more with people around you...

I played 550 hours.. and I did have to give up a lot of things for it.

For me personally, hardcoe mixed with survival difficulty is the only way to go in a Beth game. I'm now feeling (bored) complete in FO4 after playing a little over 300 hours and couldn't imagine how much quicker and less memorable the whole game play experience would be had I been even on "Very Hard". I saw someone play in Very Hard mode and laughed at how it should have been marked as Easy in comparison. A couple complaints about this though is I find Beth needs to do alot less bullet sponging and alot more deadly combat with enemies in my opinion. Had enemies had an extra couple kill moves reserved exclusively for Survival mode, I believe this would have been much more attractable to others. Must say though, not looking forward to "No Fast Travel", the other complaint about the new Survival mode to come. :sadvaultboy:

Oh yes and I agree about the "doing more with other people" comment. 100%.

Not even close to 400 hours for me, and I doubt I will ever reach that number across all of my different characters. Others can feel free to disagree with me but I just don't feel that there is much to do in this game that isn't radiant repetitive [censored], that I just have no interest in doing.

I am so disappointed and I feel it unfortunate to the extreme that I agree with your response 100% here. I am a huge Fallout fan but felt a bit let down from all the hype as well as the long awaited reentry into this franchise. This is not to say that I did not enjoy this game. I played 300 hours and enjoyed most every minute of it. Any other game would be getting flying reviews from me if it lasted this long but there is a certain expectation about these games and just seems they lacked alot of the passion that drove the previous titles, in my opinion. :sadvaultboy:

I'm at about the 150-170 hour range at the moment and I know full well I still have loads to do.

I cut back quite a bit recently when I heard exactly what Survival Mode is slated to be; I wanna restart and there's no point putting more work into a character I'm gonna reroll shortly. My life for the past 20 hours or so of gameplay has been faffing about with settlements.
