T-45D > T-51B

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 6:02 pm

Except the pauldrons on the T-51b would funnel bullets right into the shoulders.
Bethesda copied it wrong (it has to do with the common skeleton... the ADV MKII can't be made accurately either :()

Look how they are supposed to compare to the standard man in light armor (along with Mr.Handy and two mutants):

This one is slightly more accurate... but still not quite:

The only accurate one is the one seen on the FO1 opening title.

T-51b is better but it is definitely uglier then the T-45d armor. I can't even wear the T-51b because of it. :(

If your going to use a minigun and you got a strength of 6, the T-45d is suited for that and the -2 agility won't matter since the weapon doesn't reload much and your not going to mainly use VATS.
T-45d is the big gun power armor essentially.

T-51b theres no comparison better dt, its lighter, no agility penalty, and it looks so much better, I guess if you really needed the plus 2 strength but even then if your planning on using the bigger weapons you'd have the points in strength or take weapon handling.

The one, and only, way T-45d is better is helping Veronica meet the min STR requirement for the Ballistic Fist.

The T-51b also has much more hp, though the T-45d is more common so easier to maintain. And no one has mentioned that the T-51b gives you +1 charisma.

I think this is BS, you can't have eye contact that doesn't help socializing (some other helmets should have that to).
And not to forget a giant suit of armor is freighting to most people.

It's just a hang over from FO3 where it's an homage to iconic-ness of the armour to Fallout as a series. In short: chill bro

Well since 51 is higher than 47, I think T-51b would still be victorious. Say T-54 would be superior.

T-45d gives +2 STR. That's it's only advantage over T-51b, including weight. So if you're playing a low STR character, T-45d may make more sense. Otherwise, just stick to T-51b.

The T-51b originally had a +3 Strength boost till Bethesda decided not to add it.
