It's likely the mention of The Beautiful is a hint for when TES takes place in Summerset Ilse.

I can only hope, but the dominance of Thalmor and their policies makes me think that The Beautiful movement would have been completely and utterly squashed when they came to power.

I think there's a good chance that if TES ever goes to the Isles, we'll see The Beautiful in some underground capacity.

Stole my answer <_<

Also to note, altmer who live and/or were born outside of Summerset are not considered altmer to their Thalmor brethren, but a mongrel dog who got loose.

I thought it was a general answer. Sorry.

Or a smelly animal who needs to be kicked out or everyone else would smell like him, too.

The Beautiful seemed far more fascinating and real compared to the Thalmor, so I really, really hope that there's some influence left over, but how many underground movements do you know last two hundred plus years under a radical group?

For the Altmer, 100 of those years was probably spent filing all the proper paperwork (Genocide Approval Decisions not already listed under the "Divine Subgradient Ascendancy Act" require forms filled out in triplicate, and the approval of all kinds of hard-to-reach people).

Even if they are aren't around right now, there might be some revival of "new" (by elven standards) ideas if the Thalmor falls.

The Thalamor themselves, for one.

The Thalmor were defeated and Summerset was subjugated into the Empire, I've never read anything that suggested that they were persecuted or drivin into hiding. The Beautiful stood to change everything that was Altmer, they would the most logical first casualty when it came to the Thalmor coming back into power, who are staunch radicals. To me, it wouldn't make any sense for the Thalmor to allow their ideals to survive in their homeland.
