500 cap lunchboxes have got to go

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 2:05 am

Seriously, these things are rare enough without an awful "you lose" prize. It's a disappointment every time. Hell, a dweller can return with 20x that.

It's like getting an encouragement prize in a sports event...

Suggest making the fourth card "legendary or above" with no 500 caps.

Since there is no more legendaries in the wasteland, give a better chance for players to get it. And it will boost the sales.

I got my first legendary item in a long time today from a lunchbox, has anyone noticed an increase since the update, or was this just blind luck?

Wow, just got a Mr. Handy in the lunchbox right after, I already had five so not too big of a deal, but still pretty awesome to get two legendary items in a row!

I don't get it. They want to sell lunchboxes, but then they make them not worth buying. What's up with that?

New players do not know the lunchboxes are not worth buying.

I think that is why the made 5 million in the first 2 weeks. Do not know how much they are making now.

New players also not aware of the end game frustration, and no support from developer. I have played since July, end up reading forum rather than playing.

My first 1.3 lunchbox was a legendary outfit, second was 500 caps, third and fourth where rare dwellers. Four lunchboxes isn't statistically significant enough to make a call, but maybe it's not as bad as 1.2? I'm not getting my hopes up though, one guy claims he opened 176 boxes and http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1573124-why-the-december-2015-update-will-cost-bethesda-money/,

Holidays make it even worse. It would be nice if they replaced the 500 cap reward with santa suits, making it a nice gift.. but no, now I alternately get one or the other, and just about nothing else. Like I really need all these damn santa suits, instead of a decent weapon or anything.

What am I supposed to do with all these caps, anyhow?

Use the caps to rebuild the vault.

Surround every room with elevators to avoid mole rats.

After all, no use.

Scripts in the wasteland mentioned Caps are accepted as currency but you cannot buy anything, that is ridiculous.

In the survival mode, you can't even revive. It only act as building materials.

Elevators use power, don't they? I worry that using tons of elevators would mean that I'd also have to build and staff twice as many reactors?

Also, once you surround a room with elevators, it becomes impossible to ever destroy, because it becomes a closed circuit. Rooms can't be deleted that are touching more than one other room, and you end up with lots of rooms interconnected, with no open ended single connection. Explaining that badly.. but hope it's understandable...

I'm in the same boat. If I can't get special people and gear for taking big risks, why even bother to play? and I've already thrown over $100 in lunchboxes, Mr. Handies, and pets. I feel that I've payed more than enough at this point.

No, elevators don't use electric. Check out your stats book before and after building one.

As far as room deletion goes, you just can't leave rooms cut off from the vault door. If the room you're deleting is the only route for some other room to the vault door, you get that message. If there will be no orphan rooms created, you can delete a room touching two others.

Well, I got 5 lunchboxes, and I opened them, and I got (As my guranteed Rare)

Amplified Laser Rifle (Legendary)

MIRV (Legendary)

500 Caps (Poop)

Heavy Vault Armor / Suit(?) (Legendary)

500 Caps (Even more poop)

It was not that bad...

At least considering a MIRV is fairly useful when I just started.

Ah, ok. Thanks. The error message I get when trying to delete rooms says something about failure due to connecting to more than one other room, or something like that, I thought. Either the message is misleading, or I misunderstood. Guess I need to experiment.

Yeah, the error message is terrible. It doesn't actually tell you what the problem is.

Spend three days on a long tedious objective, only to see it reset when I'm almost done. Another few days later, finally complete! ..only to be rewarded with 500 caps. Bringing me from 180,000 caps, to 180,500 caps. Totally worth it.

Sometimes this message is wrong. Try exit game and come back again. It may work.
