Post » Mon Jul 11, 2011 6:07 pm

Maybe 300 in Fallout 3. 150 - 200 in New Vegas.

Their is a outside.

Is their a outside? Thanks kid, I never knew their was a outside. You sure insulted me good, pointing out their is a outside.

It'd be interesting to know how many reached such numbers with vanilla + DLC content exclusively and NOT with any mods. (Since I consider bragging about playtime when using mods is cheating.)

I only have like 500 hours at most on NV with 800+ hours on FO3.
Taking a break though, playing Godfather II right now, then i'ts off for more Brink and after that Alpha Protocol. :D

Has anyone else reach very high amounts of hours played in-between Fallout 3 and Fallout new Vegas. Cause I have over 1,500+ hours. Which is over a month and a half straight.

I have like 70-100 hours on both combined, you sir have no life

Er... Brink was just published by Bethesda, and Bethesda had nothing to do with Alpha Protocol.

I wouldn't have been able to accumulate as much time as I have (and will have in the future) without mods. Honestly, that goes for Fallout 2 as well, with the RP. Fallout 3 gets old really fast without new content and better gameplay mechanics, and New Vegas gets old (not as fast for me) because of the staticness of the gameworld. Without new content for that, I would have finished both a House playthrough and a Legion one, but I still have those ahead of me due to mods. Also, since when was time spent playing a game something to brag about and when did it become a competition that's possible to cheat with?

@looloolooigotsomeapples

Im just dissapointed Bethesda had anything to do with Brink. And i know Alpha Protocol wasn't made by Bethesda, i just think it's terrible(except the decision making)

To be fare, I have a hard time not thinking fairly low of Bethesda the publisher. However, I think Bethesda Game Studios are good developers and have the potential to make a great Fallout game in the future. Also, I haven't even played Brink. But I absolutely disagree with you about Alpha Protocol, though gameplay was mediocre, the storyline dynamics are IMO unmatched and I love the ability to carry out Jack Bauer-esque moments all of the time.

EDIT: You ninja'd me. Yes, decisions and the storyline branching was the best part.

I know what you mean  i find it difficult to think bad of bethesda but yeh Brink was terrible. I will agree with you with the good Alpha Protocol story but the gameplay seemed way too..stiff and unfinished. It was tolerable though

Brink is a chill but hard game to play with interesting mechanics and a new spin on multiplayer combat.

And Alpha Protocol was awesome in nearly every aspect, I honestly think people just hop on the bandwagon instead of give it a fair and openminded chance.

Also, since when was time spent playing a game something to brag about and when did it become a competition that's possible to cheat with?

Well not full out "brag" but yknow, I think that if someone says he/she got 900 hours that he/she should mention whether or not mods were involved.
Cause you can't compare play time with one another if mods are taken into the equation as two thirds of the community are console players.

Right, gameplay was mostly the means to an end for that game anyway. It's also not so bad if you do stealth takedowns/kills and martial arts most of the time, because those seemed a bit more polished than gunplay.

Also, fair enough. I would easily have well over 100 hours without mods due to roleplay and me not getting sick of games easily, but mods definitely add a couple hundred hours to it's lifetime, definitely.

I have played it for a very, very, very large amount of time.

I don't keep track of it, and I find the only way I can stick with a character is if I delete all my others, so I have no way to add the time up.

I have a little over 1000 hours on Fallout 3 though.

I have almost 900 hours in F:NV, and probably around 2000 in FO3, so roughly 2900-3000 total hours. No additional content from mods, but I do spend way too much time rotating the merchants in order to get more ammo and crafting supplies, and then using said supplies to make more things to sell for still more supplies, until I finally run out of stuff to make or sell. I'll note that I've 'improved' the crafting system such that I can use a lot more items than in the vanilla game, so crafting & selling sessions take longer than they otherwise would.
