Politics:
Emperor Corvus II, head of The Cyrodiilic empire after The fierce civil war (5E419-5E425) that brought Colovia and Nibenay back together after a century of separate independence. Spurred on by tales of The old Empire before it was shattered by The oblivion crisis and the Gret Thalmor Wars, he has fought several wars of expansion to try and reclaim The long lost provinces.

Rank system:
Musketeer/Pikeman - basically a private, no command responsibilities.
Optio - Corporal, an non-commissioned officer who assists The centurion. Commands 50 men.
Centurion - Sergeant, also a noncom. Commands a sleeve of shot (a half company, 100 men)

Legions:
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/628/talosown.jpg - Commander: Knight Errant Parvo. The Emperor's Household regiment, billeted in The Imperial City during peacetime. Nicknamed "The emperors pets" or "The Lapdogs" because of their guard status. Consists of five 200 man companies of shot (musketeers), three 200 man companies of pikemen, and a 10 piece regimental band of drums and bagpipes.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFZM1IZCcJA

http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/2043/twinm.jpg - A regiment raised and billeted in Bruma. Fueled by a fierce and burning nationalism they are considered The best military in The High Rock peninsula. Their white uniforms, while bright and slightly odd in a field or on parade make them next to impossible to see in The heat of battle where The powder smoke hangs heavy and thick. Daggerfall veterans of The dawn battle of Audette's Farm (5E428) said that it was like fighting a wall of ghosts or phantoms.
"Once they opened The battle one could hardly expect a rat or a dog to pass from one side to The other unhurt, such was The volume of The ghostly fire. We were but hay under a scythe."

Everyone Involved was given a copy of "Legion", the newspaper of the Imperial military before they embarked on the transport ships in Anvil. It's intent is to familiarize all soldiers and sailors as to the current state of affairs in the empire.

THE EVENING FIRE-SIDE; Or WEEKLY INTELLIGENCE
Imperial City, Sundas, Sun's Height 17, 5E430
In the Civil, Natural, Moral, Literary and Religious Worlds.
Calculated Particularly for the Perusal of the Young, and those of Military Habits of Life.
Published Independently of any Interested Party Attachment, and with Special Reference to the Principles of Truth and Purity.

SUMMARY OF INTELLIGENCE

FOREIGN - At the Imperial City, dispatches have been received from Daggerfall, relative to the intercourse of negotiation between that court and Anticlere.
These dispatches are said to be of importance, but the particulars have not been suffered to transpire.

Intelligence was received that the Whitecroft Moor fleet was certainly destined for the Abecean Sea. Ylbert Draconis promising himself important advantages
from a great diversion in that quarter. The information contained from the intercepted dispatches, it is said, urged him to the adoption of this plan.

Another account states the Anticlere expedition to have for its object, first to seize Betony; secondly, to occupy Stros M'kai, ceded by Hegathe to the Empire;
thirdly, to take by surprise the island of Stirk, which is well known not to be fortified, with a completeness adequate to its importance. Masters of these islands,
as well as the Illiac, they would possess the keys to all the East Empire Company's possessions, and the half-way houses, if one may use the expression, of
their Altmeri commerce.

According to advices from Rostorard, a second naval armament is fitting out at Whitecroft Moor, which is to consist of six sail of the line, exclusive of frigates
and other armed vessels. The utmost activity prevailed at Whitecroft Moor and all the other Anticlere harbours, to put the Anticlere navy on a most formidable
footing. They boast, that in less than four years the naval force will consist of 150 sail of the line. A body of troops is collected near Whitecroft Moor, in order to
embark on a secret expedition; and near Ipscart Rock, a camp is formed for the same purpose.

Letters from Sentinel, positively state, that the court of Daggerall has notified to that of Wayrest, its determination to take no part in the present war; and that it,
consequently, had refused the acceptance of any subsidy from Cyrodiil, offering however, at the same time, its mediation for the re-establishment of peace.

The latest advices from Alinor mention that the Grand Seignoir persists in his refusal to acknowledge Draconis as First Counsul of Anticlere. The interpreter of the
Anticlere Embassy had for some weeks been in possession of a letter from Ylbert Draconis, addressed to his Highness, but the Grand Vizier had not granted him
an opportunity of delivering it.

It is reported that Wayrest is preparing to take a very active part in the affairs of the Penninsula, and that the Archduke Charles and Gen. Mace are already appointed
to very important commands in the armies.

According to advices from Skyrim, the Legions are likely to be successful in their operations. General Mevureius, it is said, has thus written to Marquis Vassinus.
"We are preparing to attack Winterhold. All will be over in a few days. I have no doubt of the result. When this is done, our work will be completely finished. I hope
to find here a sufficiency to reward the courage and hard toils of my gallant troops."
When the dispatches came away, it was understood that the Rebels had no possible means of effecting their escape from Winterhold.

The incorporation of Shalgora with the Anticlere empire has taken place on the following terms: "That the Illiac State, without any partition, shall form in its whole a
district of Anticlere; that the public debt shall be liquidated on the same principles as the Anticlere debt; that the port of Longmoth Moor shall continue a free port, with
all the stores attached to it, and the laws regarding the military conscription shall not be applicable to the United Province, except to seamen."
