Just prepurchased the game and started to download the client. 20gb patch... not too bad but my 50mbs connection is downloading at 600kbs... Is this happening to other people as well and is there a fix..?

Nope no fix my friend has 50 mbs internet connection just like you and he had like 1/3 mbs download speed and it took 5 hours ..

I haven't had this issue myself - whenever I've had slow download it's because of issues at my end. Last patch I got came down at 8200kbps, which is as fast as it can go for me.

I've read a few topics on TF and it seems a few people have had this issue. Left it over night and im still only on 14%. :/ early access seems a long way off.....

Anyone with a fix will win cookies.

Pretty steady 3.77mB/s here. My internet connection can do about 5mB/s, so it's not too bad.

I wish mine was that fast. My area is 322mbs download speed max. and I just upgraded from 168mbs.

At times it can be a little slow for periods, idk maybe something to do with the nature of the files being downloaded, but then it picks up after a while. Either way you are in for a fairly long download time.

322mbs is pretty darn fast. You sure you're not thinking kbs?

Well i got 500 mbit internet i turned it on last night and it finnished like 4 hours later guess its so many people doing it?!

I wish I had your problems... May download speed can't go over 240 kb/s. I just leave it downloading for entire days now.

When your internet service provider tells you your speed is 50mbps, they mean 50 megabits per second. Which is actually 6.25 megabytes per second. Then, that speed is divided up into separate threads which make up your bandwidth. This is so you can have multiple devices running off your internet at the same time without any of them slowing down. Each thread is usually about 1/5 of your total bandwidth. So you will usually pull no more than 1.5 megabytes per second on a download. If you're never getting at least this speed, contact your ISP, it's their fault.

Well thats weird I normally get 1.2mbs down speed with a 12mb connection. But it sometimes downloads at half speed tho.

Mine's even worse, I'm supposed to have 3 mB/s (was supposed to be 7.1+ but lines aren't good enough around here), speed tested it and its slow at 1.5mB/s but my download is going at 187 kB/s. I've been downloading for more than 21 hours now and its at 13%. At this rate even by Sunday night I'll be lucky to have 35%. I really hope there's some fix or it speeds up.
