7000 Steps

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 9:13 pm

They will go all the way to High Hrothgar (is it spelled like that ?) Anyway, where the greybeards live....

I think the steps will begin at the final ascent being the thoughest part. Snow storms and all included !

It would be so cool if you couldt acces high Hrothgar all the time due to weather implimentation.

I wonder if something like that will keep us going right at the start? The previews said that Bleak Falls was on the Throat of the World, so I wonder if we can go straight to High Hrothgar?

Well usually you can start the main quest right of the bat so i would think so. Im just saying i think it could be cool if the weather at the peaks were wild like in real life.

I won't be counting. They said there're 7,000 steps so there probably are, but I wouldn't care either way. If there are precisely 7,000 steps....then the Nords were big on precision.

If there aren't 7,000 steps, then they're more like normal humans. We name stuff for the sake of exaggeration allll the time. Millipedes, for example, totally don't have 1,000 legs. But they do have a [censored]load.

Shouldn't millipedes have a million legs, to be literal?

That would be a megapede. Mille is one thousand in latin, which is where milli- comes from.

Oh. Duh. Hence "M" as the symbol for a thousand.

Knowing my luck, if I did decide to count steps in an epiphany of boredom and curiosity, they'd have Mai'q following me around spewing random numbers.

68cm steps? Do these steps have steps?

Besides, the chances are these steps do not commence at sea level - the first steps might even be way up the mountain.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Maybe There's a path that stretches up the slope of the mountain, and the steps don't start until maybe half way up.

If anything doesn't get destroyed, it'll be that mountain.
It's the highest point of the world, and the last bit of land to be swallowed up in the Dragon's great gullet.

If the falling is as good as when you push people down stairs in GTA:IV (don't ask), I'd love to do this

I probably will at some point
maybe 100 or so at a time, I'm sure there will be some kind of crack in the ground I can use to mark my spot

Surely the number of steps you take depends on the length of your legs.

Haha, that'd make for an interesting end-game.
The dovahkiin, sitting alone and bored at the top of the steps of high Hrothgar, all the rest of the world beneath him gone and destroyed, glumly tossing septims down the steps, into the still-open mouth of dead Alduin... "Well I killed him. Bit slow, but.... what now?"

You'd better make a mod to "spray paint" each step with a number in sequence so you don't loose count or some similar mechanism ;)

Wouldn't the highest point, the throat, be the FIRST thing to get eaten? Unless you're expected to fight Alduin through from the other side of the planet. If he starts eating from Skyrim, the highest poijnt in Skyrim will be the closest thing to him.

I wouldn't put it past the developers to put in 6999 steps just to mess with us. :sadvaultboy:

And then brutally murder the NPC that comes walking down the steps and knocks your markers off the side of the cliff lol.

I am wondering wouldn't it really be 3500 steps going up and 7000 steps going down? I usually take 2 steps at a time going up, so it's only 3500.

I do that too. Good luck trying to jump over every other step.
