7000 Steps

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:05 am

Who is actually going to count the steps one by one?

Imagine if your like:

1,2,3,4,5,.......................................................................................................................................................................................6993,6994,6995,6996,6997,6998,6999..........Hey! WTH, don't tell me I missed one!

Seriously, who's gonna count the steps to see if there's really 7000?

I know I won't. Even if it isn't 7,000, there's a little thing called Exaggeration, and everyone does it.

They say there's 7000 and challenged us to count them.

Obviously that means there will be 7000 so I don't have to waste my time.

Why 7000? Why not 10 000?

I will not be counting. Why would I? For me this is not fun.

It's some interesting bit of lore. 7000 steps to reach the Grey Beards. Interesting theory, but I don't want to sit back and count to 7000 when they clearly stated there will be that many and they expect us to check.

So for all the math wizards out there, how many KM or Miles (for the Americans) would 7000 steps be? How high would it be?

If I were a cheeky developer, I'd add one step. Think about it, if you're counting stairs and reach 7001; you're starting over just to check.

Um... you kind of have to know how big the steps are.

For a rough estimate, look at the throat of the world (the biggest mountain) in the screenshots or video.

If each step was a half a foot high, it'd be 2/3 a mile up.

You'd have to wait to find out how big a step in the game is. Not all steps are the same height.

Also regardless of what gets said in this thread you KNOW someone out there is gonna make a you-tube video called something like Skirim 7,000 Steps part 1.

"Uh... okay this is gonna be(heavy breathing) the throat of the world mountain, climbing the 7,000 steps, one by one. Part one is gonna be step 1 through 583."

U can't really say how high it would be without knowing the angle and/or the hight of each step, thinking its a stair. If it were like the steps in my appartment it would be 7000 x 18,5 cm = 129.500 cm and thats 1.295 km .... thats not really that tall but if a stair is cut out from the mountain side the steps would prolly be alot taller... maybe 25 or something, and then its 1.700 km. So that mountain isnt very tall.... lol... Maybe Dovakhiin takes steps of something like 68 cm a step.

As for 7000 steps. 1 step is approx 2.5 feet. 1 feet is 0.762 m making 7000 steps 5334 m = 5 km 334 m...

The top of the world is not that far away

Nope... there are the 10.000 step program where you walk 10.000 steps per day...

Considering those 7,000 steps, they are practically a give away concerning at least one Daedric artifact in the game. It is glaringly obvious, that Sheogorath's Slinky must be somewhere.

If it isn't in, it should be. I think it would add too immersion. (what? Someone had to do it)

Another thing people haven't considered, is that the steps may not make up the full height. It might be 20 steps, long path, 20 steps, long path, 20 steps long path.

68cm steps? Do these steps have steps?

Besides, the chances are these steps do not commence at sea level - the first steps might even be way up the mountain.
