If I was a dev I would have an obscure decal on the 6463th step that said "6462" Or at least something very similar. That would be an epic easter egg for someone counting the steps. Especially if that person lost count.

Todd made a pretty big deal of making sure it's composed of 7000 steps, so I'm 99% sure that it will be.

The question in my mind is: exactly how does that feel walking up 7000 ancient stone steps?

I can't wait to find out.

i would love to have a city with walls and jump over them like OB to have a hellish glitched world where i can run without limits to the outer seas and reach the limits of my mind smoking and listening to some metal chaos songs and seeing the character as the most heroic person in the world, ever.

funny thing is, you will only travel the steps once, cause all of the other times you will just fast travel up

Seriously, I'm very excited about this 7000 steps. The reason why: Even if these steps are quite small, each of them will take about 10cm. So for the whole 7000 steps, this will result in about 700 meters. That's an awesome value for in game mountains, and I don't remember anything that huge in a computer game. So it seems we can expect really massive mountaines!

I think it would be funny if they created an unkillable NPC whose only purpose was to go up and down the mountain counting steps.

You could torment him to no end.

NPC counting aloud as he approaches the summit: 6994, 6995, 6996, 6997, 6998...

NPC ten minutes later at base of mountain: 1, 2, 3, 4...

He would, of course, have to be a self-loathing, down-on-his-luck sort of NPC, with great lines of dialogue for a good laugh.
