Hey I resemble that remark ;)

Being a Brit living in Canada I can firmly say it is the other way around, normally games release in NA/Japan before UK/EU so I was always playing catch up in UK, at least now global launches mean anyone who is awake can log in at the same time.

If the game launches at 7pm EDT on 04/04/14, and early access is 7am EDT on 30/03/14 then actually those of us in NA have the advantage being BEHIND Europe as 7am EDT is 12pm (noon) BST, and in Japan this is 8pm, those on the pacific coast actually get the most out of the Sunday early access, being able to log in at 4am pdt

The issue is that the Early Access people only get 4.5 days no matter how you cut it. This is because the Official launch is actually 7 PM EDT on Thursday the 3rd, not at 7 PM EDT on the 4th.

The annoying thing for me is that it's been really quite chilly here most of the week - colder than it was at the beginning of this month. I just know when the servers open, spring is going to probably decide to start.

You just knew the weird launch time for the early access would come back to bite ZOS on the butt. If they had planned the rollout with a 7-day early access, then it wouldn't have been a problem. You have to wonder if the mismatch was meant to be deliberate and they felt they could ram it down the throats of players or if whomever planned the rollout didn't think five days ahead and just made a big booboo. I know which one I think it was. :)

Well, it may have been mentioned... but keep in mind there are 5 day early access, and 3 day early access.. depending on which version you pre-ordered. I'd be surprised if there were enough 5 day'ers to overload it on Sunday.

Doesn't the game actually go live at 7pm EDT on Thursday the 3rd?

Same here. It snowed yesterday where I live. At least we won't be missing much by spending the next few weeks indoors, right?

It will also help with server lag and a more slow waves of people log in at a time, instead of wall of people hits the servers at 9K MPH. I have no trouble with that. Just have to wait and wait and wait some more.... ~watches the moons dial in the court yard~

They didn't say you would get 120 hours early access (5 days x 24 hours). They said 5 days. We are getting access during the 5th calendar day prior to the official launch.

It's not a conspiracy, and you are not entitled to anything more than they are giving.

The definition of a day is a period of 24 hours.

Wait, really?

Guys, nobody BOUGHT Early Access. Yes, "5 days" was the advertisemant that came with preordering the game, but it was absolutely free. Buying the game with Early Access cost the exact same as buying the same edition a month from now will.

No one is cheating you out of your money. 12 hours is not worth this much fuss.

I don't feel cheated, and I certainly don't want them to move the launch back to Friday morning..... but I'd definitely love it if they moved early access back to Saturday night :lmao:

How fantastic it is to know that the game is already going to have a healthy population of whiny babies and it isn't even out yet..... jeez... grow up.

Are you joking? The servers will be jammed on Sunday at 7am EDT. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Imperial edition pre-orders outsell the regular version pre-orders right up to 4/4/14. That means an awful lot of players with five day early access.

After 4/4/14, player reactions and reviews will drive sales, higher or lower, Imperial edition or regular edition. New players will have little incentive to buy the Imperial edition after 4/4 because the early access advantage disappears and the mount will be purchasable in-game at a low price. I personally don't care for the virtual pets and value that part of the package as being worth less than $5.

A large company is gypping you 10% and you say it's fine. Most consumers don't think like that.

You have failed to invalidate my post. There is more than one definition of a day. Truthfully, 24 hours is but one measurement of a day, but not the definition of a day. A day is really a rotation of the earth around the sun. 24 hours was just a logical way for us to break it up into a quantitative sub-measurement called time.

This does not change the fact that you and the OP are complaining about a non-issue.

If you bought directly from the ESO store either edition, you get 5 days now.
