That is what happened to me the first time I tried it. Out of curiosity have you completed the Diplomatic Immunity Quest yet?

Probably the fact that werewolf mode is lame, but the disease immunity is too convenient to worry about curing it.

See I can't make sense of why it doesn't give you any cache/buffer size. There is no way it can't have cache space..a completely radical thought I had was that your Kingston, for some reason is saving ALL data that should only be cached. Which to me makes no sense at all. But neither does the fact that you are the only person on here that had a 90MB save file. For some reason the only thing I can think of is this radical explination. -No specified cache space...no automatic delete and no way for the game to distinguish between necessary info and cache data -Save and you save it all -Data may have a time limiter on everything not concurrent to in-game time but rather play-time -Time limit reached at specific hours played and information resets decreasing save file Kinda a dumb theory but I haven't ever heard of a Hard Drive with no specific cache or buffer and I still have yet to hear a good explaination from anyone else..(I'm sure Paladinrja will come tell me how wrong I am and exlain everything.) LOL

This started before the SSD, getting the SSD was actually a bandaid on my part while waiting on the next patch to save the world.

So have you gotten around to actually playing the game again? How is it running?

Its running great. Somehow, the Innocence Lost quest finally appeared (had issuses with that earlier on) and I was able to complete it.

Well done Observer, hopefully you will be able to play the game now. I give myself a small 10sec (max) pause between moving in and out of towns and regions and it lets me play the game. Just need to give the game time to load and when installing just wait til the HDD light stops flashing before loading a save or starting a new game and you can easily manage your game as you are playing it.

I also hope that people that read this take the time to give it a shot and get themselves back into the game. Not just rubbish the post with know-it-all suppositions based on not even having given it a go.

Mrs. Palin, my ninja,

I HAVE given this a go and so have a few other people. It seems like it might help with a giant save file, mine was only 18mb, and when I tried it, it went down by half a meg. It's far from a fix. But hey this is your new "it's the firmware." topic you can bring up in all the threads. Happy hunting! ... for other reasons it's not Bethesda's fault that is... Just try not to be ignorant. Not calling you ignorant. Just don't become ignorant. Okay?

i read your first thread back when it was active and was eager to read your new thread when i saw it. the video was fantastic, great humor. then the plot twist of the incredible shrinking file, wow, you have it all going on. though i must admit, i am somewhat disappointed it's getting smaller; i really wanted to see 100mb file...i just like watching epic failure as much as epic success (though i am glad the file is smaller for you, if for no other reason than your sanity).

tremendous job with your documentation; when dev's ask for details they need to use your posts as an example of what is helpful. i have nothing but praise for you kundalini, great job all the way around; and to do it all with humor is an admirable quality.

i like the idea of a kundalini the patient npc. would be a great M'aiq the Liar line too.

Sounds like the reset timer is only working in real time and not rest/sleep time.

It is doing orders of magnitude better than it was before. Somehow, it dropped to 12MB for a few days, which was a size I couldn't get by standing idle it would just drop to 13MB and then up to 14MB. Still a bit of lag, nothing game crippling. Occasional freeze, but nothing that I haven't gotten used to (my manual saves usually save me). Load and save screens are fast, like they were in the beginning.

My character is still transparent though.

Hey kundalini? Did Bethesda just recently take one of your saves? Like very recent? How does that work? How many did you send them?

fair enough thats good then very bizarre though I'm tempted to try it but it would most likely raise the game save file rather then lower it to begin with just like yours did and that other person who tried it a little bit in this thread and said it rose in size instead of lowered
mind might be worth a try to see if your situation is duplicatable ....hmmmmm

I suspect it triggered by completing Diplomatic Immunity. I had also worked to clear out my quest log as much as possible. I would say that the drop for me was 1MB per 2 hours. Then I bottomed out at 13MB. So, we can assume that unless the file is over 13MB that there could be a change. In the end though, it all comes down to what triggered it, because as you noted, first time my size increased and so did another person's.

indeeds well i have a save after diplomatic immunity and a few saves before that quest i still haven't got very far in the main quest at all furthest iv got so far is learning the clear skies shout and getting up high hrothgar so might have to try and sees if there is a significant difference in the two of course like you said it depends what triggers it as it could be anything but it does appear to be something that might be duplicatable might be a fun experiment for me seeing as i can't play it properly atm and my want to actually game has really gone down no thanks to this game

Holy cow, my save file isn't even 10K and I can't play anymore from the freezes and hanging when zoning/loading.

Can't imagine how you got that big of a file!
